A bit of a follow up to the previous announcement: Each application that is using Play Integrity API is officially registered with Google. It has been observed that many users often use registered checker apps (Play Integrity API Checker, SPIC, etc) primarily to test the if their spoofs are working or not. It's important to note that Google can discern these requests, identifying the specific package names responsible for them. These apps, by no intention of the developers, could potentially be used as honeypots for google. We believe that users should avoid using these checker applications and either use the check integrity function in Google Play developer options, or better yet, send no manual API requests at all and instead search for apps that would otherwise be marked as incompatible (e.g Netflix) if certification fails as a representation of whether you are passing or not.

In Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1, I enabled a flag that let you remove the At a Glance widget entirely, but there was another interesting flag called SMARTSPACE_AS_A_WIDGET that didn't work at the time. In Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2, I've enabled this flag, which lets you move the At a Glance widget around on screen and even rearrange it if you want! Sadly, even with this flag enabled, you still cannot add the At a Glance widget to third-party launchers like Nova Launcher. This is because At a Glance isn't actually a widget under-the-hood, it's a "custom element behaving like a widget." (Thanks to Kieron Quinn for digging into this.)

For Android 14 and beyond, future builds will stick to Pixel Launcher and Google Wallpapers prebuilt. As much as we love providing customizable stuff, stability is my focus as well as Pixel exclusives. Since AI wallpapers and Emoji walls are pretty much broken using AOSP ThemePicker, as well the Quarterly platform releases (QPR) requiring a extensive rebase to Launcher3 each time, we would rather stick to Google's prebuilt apps that are stable.

There will be re-releases of our December patch updates for devices such as Marble and Raphael due to issues with Island notifications (specifically the now playing feature) and Package installer crashes. We'll improve the source code tonight so that subsequent releases will not have these issues.

December 2023 security patches have also been merged into our Android 13 default branch for those stuck with that :)

Android 14 QPR1 is currently being merged into Evo X. A lot of changes so a framework rebase will be made.

For the devices that got updates since yesterday (Dec 4 9:30 AM GMT +8 specifically), your build has a PifResourcesPrebuilt.apk file probably in your system_ext/app directory. Install this apk, reboot, clear play store data, and your device should pass again. This will be our way of passing certification without the need for new updates. If your device doesn't have this file in the system yet, kindly wait for an updated build from your device maintainer.
