So apparently I'm a conspiracy theorist for suggesting the poor old beleaguered British motorist is being shat on! Consider these :
1 Masses of roadworks usually with no workers in attendance
2 And yet...huge reluctance to fix potholes
3 Just shy of 73% of the cost of fuel at the pump goes to government
4 A 6 month wait for new drivers to get a driving test appointment
5 ULEZ
6 Less choice of new cars nowadays coz of ridiculous legislation
7 Per capita, one of the most spied upon countries in the world
