日出是在 Lake Superior 上空，辽阔的镜面彼端冒出了奇怪的红色发光体（并没有料到日出会在北侧舷窗被观测到）。从刺眼的红到眩目的橘，湖面为底的画布上逐一被描出的是云纱、云索、云梯、云海，直到舷窗周围凝结的冰晶纤毫毕现。

率先浮出天际的是一线近乎紫的靛蓝。湛蓝、天蓝、天青、沙黄、土黄、橘黄、锈红，宏伟的三棱镜逐渐醒来。（橘与黄的分界是一条坚定的黑线。起初我以为那是地平线，而不规则的橙红光带则是某种传说中的黄昏之海。有可能是北方的 Hudson Bay 吗）…再到后来，视野里只剩下了不断掠过的耀目的白与恒定安静的蓝。
