Don't view learning Arabic as learning a supplementary language, or as you learning a new language. Rather, you're reclaiming a language that is yours. After all, Arabic is the language of the Qur'an, our guidance, the rope we hold firm to bi'idnillah. Arabic is the language of our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and our means to understand him and his companions in all their wisdom.

23 Abu Fatima migrated with his wife, his children, his parents, his brothers and sisters from Indonesia. They all travelled to many countries during their eventful hijrah journey until they entered the land of Shaam. First, they stayed in Mansoora and then moved to R@qqah. When the siege of the capital began, his father took all the women of the family to M@yadin and then later to Sh@faa. However, Abu Fatima and his brothers Abu Zubayr and Abu Obaida Indonisee stayed in R@qqah during the siege and fought until they were killed. Abu Fatima spend all his years in fighting and doing ribat until his shahada.
Since Abu Fatima was always going for ribat, sometimes he would see many miracles from Allah. He would also see amazing dreams. Sometimes, while he was hiding in his position and the akraad were firing at his position in R@qqa, he would go to sleep and would see dreams. Subhan Allah, this was the tranquility descended on him by Allah. Once he narrated to me one of his dreams as follows:
“In my dream I saw a palace with black marble on its walls. I entered in it. I saw many, many shuhada in white shrouds sleeping next to each other. I walked in between them until I reach a room. I entered the room in which four shuhada in white shroud were sleeping. Then, one of them woke up. I asked him: Who are you? He told me that he was the Shaheed of the battle of Mu’ta against the Romans. Then, the second Shaheed woke up. I asked him who he was. He told me that he was the Shaheed of the battle of Yarmouk (against the Romans). Then the third Shaheed woke up from sleep. He told me that he was the Shaheed of the battle of Hittin (against the Romans). Finally, the fourth Shaheed woke up. When I asked him who he was, he told me that he was the Shaheed of the battle of Muslims against the crusaders. He had a crossbow with him from the time of crusaders. I asked him if I can take a look at it. He gave it to me. I told him now we use different types of weapons. The Shaheed listened attentively to me about our modern day jih@d and weapons. Then, I told them that I have to leave. On my way when I was leaving the palace of shuhadaa, I saw that some of those shuhadaa started to wake up. End of dream.”
Abu Fatima was killed by the crusaders’ airstrike on the 8th of Dhul Hijjah during the siege of R@qqah while he was doing the ribat. Allah granted him shahadah during the 10 most blessed days of the year. Three days before his shahadah, Abu Fatima saw a dream which he narrated to both of his brothers. “In my dream I saw many white beautiful tents. Then, in one of the tents I saw my wife, who seemed to be different from my wife in this world. Then, someone gave me a letter which had three things in it:
1) It was written in the letter that this message is to the Muslim youth of Syria, Yemen and Iraq. You should get yourself ready for jih@d.
2) In this world, when you get married, you bring your wife to your home. But, o Muslim youth, if you want the hoor of paradise then you have to proceed forward (in jih@d) to get your wife of paradise. You have to go towards her, she will not come to you.
3) I remembered the third point of the letter as a scene in which I saw a huge ship of kuffar reached the land of Muslims to fight them. When the doors of the ship opened, the crusader soldiers who came out, I saw that the majority of them were Europeans [this could be pointing towards the Armageddon between the Muslims and Crusaders the time of which could be very near now]. End of dream.”
This dream of our brother Abu Fatima Indonisee is in itself a great message to the Muslim youth to rise up as they are seeing the massacre of G@za today. May Allah accept Abu Fatima among the highest of shuhada and may Allah grant us the company of people of Abu Fatima on the day of Judgement (وَحَسُنَ أُولَئِكَ رَفِيقًا).

Story of Abu Fatima Indonesee
Abu Fatima Indonesee and the story of his whole family is a glittering example for the whole Muslim ummah. They were such a blessed, rare, exemplary and large family that all of them got shahada in the path of Allah one after the other including the children until their remaining family members including his father Abu Yakub Indonesee, his mother, his wife and children, the widows of his brothers, and his sisters were all killed in the last days of B@ghus. May Allah accept all of them as the shuhada, Ameen.

26 Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi, (رحمه الله) said:
"Sufyān ath-Thawrī died at my place. When he was on his deathbed and the agony of death became severe, he began to weep. A man said to him:
'O Abū Abdullāh, is it because, apparently, you done a lot of sins?!'
Sufyān then picked up something from the floor and said:
'By Allāh, my sins are less important to me than what I picked up from the floor. But I fear that Allāh may take my Imān (faith) from me before I die.'"

27 Yesterday I went for a funeral of a 39 year old man. He was a father of three girls, the older girls 10 and younger one 2 years of age. His grandmom looked over his shrouded body. His wife's eyes looked worn and red. They were supposed to leave for another country, later this month, to settle there for sometime. They had booked tickets and even got a house there. He died in his sleep. As a person who never missed Fajr, his wife went to wake him up to pray, but he never woke up.

If you slept tonight and never woke up tomorrow, would you be satisfied with what you have done till today? His funeral was truly a wake up call for me. May Allah forgive him, widen his grave and grant him Jannah

This was a huge reminder to me and so I couldn't help but share. The verses of this poem are so spot on as a reminder that this life isn't IT. We are here to be tested. We will go back. There's nothing more certain than it. Every person reading this will go back to His Creator, whether they like it or not, whether they know or not, whether they want to or not.
