The Unstoppable Ascent of Kasim Razvi   This episode narrates the unending intrigues of the Nizam Mir Osman Ali against merging Hyderabad into the Indian Union and how he gives unlimited power to Kasim Razvi. ---   Ever heard the name of Bahadur Yar Jung?   He was the person who originally seeded the idea of maintaining Hyderabad as a separate Islamic country ruled exclusively by the Sharia. His close circle of friends included Allama Iqbal and Muhammad Ali Jinnah and both admired his zeal for propagating the “Pakistan movement.”   This is how Pakistan has honoured Bahadur Yar Jung:  1. The Bahadurabad locality in Karachi is named in his honour, complete with a replica of the Hyderabad Charminar. After Partition, this area housed the Muslims who migrated to Pakistan from Hyderabad.  2. The Bahadur Yar Jung Library and Bahadur Yar Jung Academy are named in his memory. 3. As recently as 1990, the Pakistani Postal department released a stamp celebrating him in its Pioneers of Freedom series.   Bahadur Yar Jung was the founder of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM).     His grandson Mohammad Moazam Khan was first elected as an MLA in 2004 from the Bahadurpura constituency on the AIMIM ticket. Gleanings from Five Years of The Dharma Dispatch   Today is the fifth anniversary of The Dharma Dispatch. A few notes on our journey so far. --- The five-year-long journey of The Dharma Dispatch has been a perennial source of joy. Joy, which we hope we have been able to transmit to our readership — the mainstay that empowers and sustains our work.   The current state of the Hindu civilisation is akin to a beautiful garment that has been rent to its bare threads and has to be re-stitched all over again. The Hindu Civilisational Dimensions of the Uniform Civil Code   A Uniform Civil Code is not merely a legislative matter but a civilisational imperative for the Hindu society ---   The ongoing narratives around the UCC ignore a point that should have ideally occupied the centrestage: the near-total destruction of the Hindu society through legislation.  Today, the Hindu society has become unrecognisable from what it had been say, even fifty years ago. Ramaswamy Naicker’s Career of Anti-Hindu and Separatist Activism: From his Own Biography   Thanks to Udhayanidhi Stalin's outburst about eradicating Sanatana Dharma, we dug into our archives and found these excerpts from E.V. Ramaswamy Naicker's (Periyar) biography listing the major instances of his lifelong anti-Hindu and anti-India activism.   "Periyar" is the ideological father of Udhayanidhi Stalin's party, the DMK. -- We're citing only two excerpts from Periyar's biography.   1 1947 (August 15) — When the whole of India wasjubilant on the attainment of Indian “Independence” on 15-8-1947, Periyar boldly called it a ‘mourning’ day for Tamils. He called Independence of India was nothing but a ‘made over’ to Brahmins and North Indian Merchants (Baniyas) from British because the demand for separate sovereign nation to Dravidian Tamils was not fulfilled as done in the case of Muslims’ demand for Pakistan.  2 1957 — Another big agitation was started by Periyar. Brahmins used to inscribe the name in their Hotel Name-Boards as ‘Brahmin Hotel." Periyar requested all his followers to erase the name ‘Brahmin’ in the Hotel Name Boards. Accordingly a compaign was started to erase the Brahmin-Name-Board in all Brahmin Hotels in Tamil Nadu. The Personal Pathology of Karna -- This is the second episode in our series examining the myth of the Duryodhana-Karna friendship.   THERE IS A SLIGHT TINGE OF similarity in the Duryodhana-Karna relationship and the Gandhi-Nehru relationship. Selfishness and messianic delusions characterised Duryodhana and Gandhi. Karna and Nehru, respectively, supplied the required fodder that kept these delusions at their optimal level of obesity. Thereby, both of them secured the prized place in their master’s inner circle and acquired free rein to run riot.   Duryodhana had a Duṣṭa-traya — a Diabolical Triad comprising Śakuni, Duśyāsana, and Karna, which aided his self-scripted drama of evil that ultimately ruined him at great cost to the nation. This is akin to the sinister cabal surrounding Indira Gandhi whose depraved counsel wrecked India and culminated in her assassination, a horror of her own making.    Karna’s loyalty was a personal loyalty exclusively reserved for Duryodhana. For him, Duryodhana = Hastinapura, just like how the vile D.K.
