Do Not Grieve Over The Past Shaykh AbduRahmaan As-Sa'adi [رحمه الله] said: ❝Do not grieve over past matters which have not been destined, from ill health, or loss of wealth or a worldly matter, etc. Your concern should be with rectification of actions on the day. Since a person is living in the moment. He should not be saddened for what has passed. Also he should not research into the future where that research would not be of any benefit. It is upon you to be truthful, fulfill your contracts, keep to one's promises and justice in all dealings. Fulfilling rights completely and perfectly with a tranquil soul and with truthful pure Eemaan. Busy yourself with your own mistakes and your matters, rather than the mistakes of the people and their matters. Deal with everyone according to their situation and condition, whether he is a senior, or youngster, male or female, a leader or a follower. Be gentle and merciful to everyone even animals and livestock, since indeed Allaah is merciful to his merciful worshippers. Dua of Istikhaarah: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلَا أَقْدِرُ ، وَتَعْلَمُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي أَوْ قَالَ عَاجِلِ أَمْرِي وَآجِلِهِ فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي أَوْ قَالَ فِي عَاجِلِ أَمْرِي وَآجِلِهِ فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ وَاقْدُرْ لِيَ الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي بِهِ O Allaah I request of You with Your knowledge, and by Your Power I seek capability, and I ask of you of your great favour, since indeed You are the One who is able while I am not, and You know and I do not, and You are the One who knows the unseen. O Allaah if You know that this matter – here he mentions his need – is good for me in this world and for my living and for the matters of my Hereafter – or he said, for my affairs now and the future – then decree it for me and make it easy for me and bless it for me. And if You know that this matter is evil for me in this world and for my life and for the matters of my Hereafter – or he said, for my affairs now and the affairs of my future – then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and decree goodness for me where ever it may be and make me pleased with it. Avoiding / Not Sitting With Negative or Burdensome People Does Not Make You A Bad Person Ibn ‘Aqeel (rahimahullah), said: A burdensome, unpleasant person (i.e., an outsider; a person who is not a family member or a close mahram relative) that mixes with others is an illness that doesn’t leave the bodies; (he is) a trouble weighing down on the hearts; a restriction on (people’s) breathing; a blockage preventing (the use of one’s) senses. ⛔TEN THINGS WHICH ARE WASTE & USELESS⛔ 💫VALUABLE EXTRACTS & GOLDEN BENEFITS FROM GREAT SCHOLARS💫 🖋️Al-Imaam Ibnu-l-Qayyim رحمه الله said: ⛔TEN THINGS WHICH ARE WASTE & USELESS: 1️⃣Knowledge that is not acted on, 2️⃣Deed that has neither sincerity nor is based on following (the Sunnah of the Messenger ﷺ), 3️⃣Money that is not spent from it (hoarded), as the Collector of it neither enjoys it during this life nor offers it before him to the Hereafter (in order to obtain any reward), 4️⃣Heart that is empty; has neither love nor longing for Allah, and does not want to be close to Him, 5️⃣A body that is suspended from obeying and serving Him (Subhanah), 6️⃣A love that does not abide by the consent of the beloved and comply with his orders, 7️⃣Time that is inoperative from rectifying previous shortcomings & sins or seizing opportunities to do good & worship, 8️⃣A mind that thinks about what is useless, 9️⃣Serving those who will not bring you close to Allah nor will benefit you in your worldly life, 🔟Your fear and hope from whose forelock is in the Hand of Allah (and under His authority) , while he is a captive in His grip, possesses neither harm nor benefit for himself, and possesses no power (of causing) death, nor (of giving) life, nor of raising the dead. 🔶However, the greatest of these wastes(losses) are two, which are the root of all wastes(losses): 1️⃣waste of the heart 2️⃣and waste of the time; 🔶Waste of the heart by preferring worldly life over the life of Hereafter, 🔶waste of the time by lengthening the hope (to have longer life in this world). ⛔Thus, All corruptions get together in following desires and having incessant hope, while all goodness is found in following the guidance and preparing oneself to meet (Allah), Wallahulmustaan. 📕Reference: Al-Fawaaid p162 🌿May Allah save our life & deeds from Waste & Uselessness!
