With SRSS method, you still define a load combination and use combination type of SRSS and call the two independent seismic actions( in this case the two seismic actions are defined with dynamic mass shift method to account accidental torsional effect).

Now u use the independently defined seismic combination with absolute add in your design seismic combination, u simply call it and assign a scale factor of one.

If u use the 30% rule it is advisable to create a load combination first which uses "absolute add" as combination type in order to avoid so many signs on each part to come up with the maximum effect.

When It comes to combination of independently calculated horizontal seismic actions ES EN 1998:2015 States three possible methods, we will discuss two of the three methods in this section.
If u have access to models that are done by professional structural engineers, you might have observed in the seismic load combinations something like, Eqx+0.3Eqy or specx+0.3specy, here eqx is seismic action in x direction generated from equivalent lateral force method and that of specx is seismic action generated from response spectrum analysis in x direction and the y direction follows the same definition. Here they use 0.3 times the other direction action in order to comply with ES EN 1998:2015 ART. 4.3.3.5.1(3). And it's all about combining the seismic action from the two directions
The other possible way proposed by the code is to use SRSS( sum of the squared values method) which is an available way of combining loads in software's such as ETABS.

✅ In order to meet the architects demand, one of the ways is to design the column for a moment that is generated from the sum of the moment capacity of the beam multiplied by 1.3 and divided between the top and the bottom column proportionally. This approach will lead to higher amount of reinforcement in columns and sometimes the column section might become over reinforced due to a high amount of moment demand from the beam section.
✅ The other approach is to make the structural system satisfy dual: wall equivalent or wall system requirements of the code and beam to column capacity ratio will not be necessary to satisfy as the code implies Implicitly( see the red underlined section)

ES EN 1998:2015 section 4.4.2.3(4)
✅Frame system( beam and column) and also frame equivalent once are expected to satisfy equation 4.29( shown in the picture)
✅ Equation 4.29 in simple terms can be explained as the sum of the moment capacity of columns on a given joint shall be 1.3 times more than the sum of the moment capacity of beams.
✅ This requirement isn't simple to attain. Usually architects demand rectangular columns with one side of the rectangle being 250 mm or less. This types of columns are stiff in one direction and weaker in the other. With drop beams of size 200x400 mm and above the column would be much much weaker than the beam in one or more directions.
