Repost from IAS PCS Pathshala
UPSC Prelims 2024 Answer Key
This answer key has been prepared after referring to various official government websites, government websites, PIB, newspapers, and reports to ensure very minimal discrepancies.
Questions that are debatable have been highlighted in two different colors (yellow and green). For the purpose of marks calculation, consider the answers highlighted in yellow. Go through this PDF and check how much you are scoring.
Regarding Cutoff
In this video, I've discussed the expected cutoff and objectively defined the reasons and rationale behind why it is likely to be the most probable cutoff.
After referring to the key and cutoff, put a full stop to marks calculation and cutoff speculations, and start your mains preparation.
This time, the gap between prelims and mains is less, so we have to be on our toes.

Best wishes everyone 🤞🍀
From my 2 attempt experience and hopefully that worked for me, I'm saying that -
Stop studying now (brain ke cells ko effective work krne ke liye usko free rhne do)
Subah uthkar bhi avoid krna (jitna chill utna jyada Commonsense chalega)
Try to follow trend of UPSC (b/c if something changes then senior veterans and all will be affected) and therefore cutoff will be reduced in same way.
Pack your bag now with all important things (as mentioned in earlier msg)
Fight every moment of those 4 hours.
(Remember हारा वही जो लड़ा नहीं 😊)
All the best warriors 💯 .
All the very best for tomorrow.
Bholenath blessings are with you and kal wo apki taraf se khel rahe hai so there's no need to panic at all.
I want you to know I'm so proud of you. I'm proud of your guts, zeal, dedication, perseverance and continuous efforts.
I'm so proud that you have not given up and are giving your every bit with your head held high. You've come so far, and I know you'll do great things.
Just remember, everyone will have more or less the same knowledge, but this exam is all about temperament. Jo apne nerves par control kar liye wo khel jayega.
Now is the time to have complete faith and trust in yourself and in your preparation. Your preparation is more than sufficient to clear the cutoff. Just maintain that self-belief. Jo bhi hoga, jaisa bhi hoga, sambhal loge.
I have seen many people clear it with little knowledge and the right mindset.
Just remember 2 points:
1. Remain calm throughout the paper. If the paper is difficult, it will be difficult for everyone. But if you maintain your composure, you will have an extra edge over others.
2. Don't discuss the GS1 paper during breaks and don't carry GS1 baggage into the CSAT paper. Approach the CSAT paper with a completely fresh mindset. If you remain calm, you will easily find enough questions in CSAT to smoothly clear the CSAT cutoff, no matter how the paper turns out. Plus, if you clear CSAT, you are already in the top 5%.
So don't panic at all.
Just give your bestshot with positive mindset.
Baki bholenath hai na, sambhal lege.❤️
All the very best once again,
Rahul
Repost from UPSC CSE Aspirant
All the best to all those who are attempting UPSC prelims tomorrow.
Few key points that may be helpful:
1. Reach exam centre atleast half an hour before the entry time, plan your journey well in advance. Otherwise panic krte h end moment pr.
2. Admit card,ID, pen, water bottle etc sb rkh lena.
3. Be prepared for a bouncer and very unexpected paper. Dont panic and try to stay calm and composed. Jo aapko nahi aata wo kisi ko nahi aata bs ye maan kr chalo.
4. Time ka dhyan rkhna.. dont waste much time on questions in which you are absolutely clueless. Exam hall me time bhot jaldi bhagta h😄
5. Fill bubbles in OMR carefully. Also check the quality of ball point pen you will use in filling OMR.
6. Try to attempt paper in 2 rounds and leave only 4-5 for the last round as paper lengthy aa rha hai ab.
7. After gs paper 1, dont waste time in discussing about cutoff and answer key. Bde bde gyani milege centre ke bahar😄.This affects your performance in csat.
8. Break time me have lunch and then csat ke formula ya tricks revise kro.
9. In csat, dont stick to a particular question. Be quick in solving. Easy questions milege paper me. Difficult me atak kar nahi rhna.
10. Be at your peak tomorrow. This is the first step towards your goal. Embrace it.
Thank you😊

Perfection is impossible. Even the best ranked tennis player win barely more than half the points he plays. The point you’re playing is the only point that matters. Similarly, the question you’re solving should be the only question you’re focusing on. Mindset is everything!
