Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio) will be renamed back to Data Studio
The new Data Studio experience is available in two editions.
• Data Studio continues to offer powerful, no-cost individual analysis and visualization, serving as the on-ramp for creating and sharing ad-hoc reports, transforming data to an interactive dashboard in minutes.
• Data Studio Pro is designed for scaling teams and organizations that need more agility and control, including AI features and deep integration with Google Cloud for enterprise-grade security, management, and compliance capabilities. Pro licenses can be purchased directly from the Google Cloud console or the Google Workspace Admin Console.

1. Cross data source filtering
This feature lets you override default field IDs so that controls on a report can filter charts that are based on different data sources.
2. Show and hide individual charts and components
You can hide individual charts and components for all viewers or for a subset of viewers.
3. Histogram chart
You can visualize your data using histogram charts. Histograms are useful for understanding the shape, center, and spread of your data, which in turn can lead to insights that might be hidden in other types of charts, such as pie charts and bar charts.

▪New report canvas sizes
Two new preset canvas size options are available, letting you control the width and height of your report on the screen. The new options are size A4, available in portrait or landscape orientations.
▪New alt text field for images
You can now add alt text to report images to make them accessible to screen readers. See the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) guidelines on alt text for more information about writing alt text.
▪Looker connector enhancements
Additional calculated field functions are now available in Preview.
▪Performance improvement for BigQuery data sources
Report viewers may notice improved performance when the report uses a BigQuery data source.
The BigQuery connector supports short query optimized mode. In this mode, when BigQuery determines it can finish a query quickly, BigQuery prioritizes returning immediate results instead of creating a BigQuery job.
▪Highlight charts by filter
The Applied Filters panel now lets you click on a filter to highlight all charts that the filter applies to.
▪Add descriptions to reports
You can now add text descriptions to a report. The report search now matches the report title as well as the description.
