Also, it's from imitating the Jews, and some fabricated narrations have come in this regard, so it's not appropriate for the Muslim to become deceived by them or act upon them. ✒️ Saying "Bismillāh" before Wuḍūʾ 📩 "Is saying the Basmalah (بسم الله) Wājib in the Wuḍūʾ or recommended?" 🎙️ Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʿān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه): It is Mustaḥab according to what's correct. As for the Ḥadīth: There is no Wuḍūʾ for the one who doesn't say the name of Allāh in it[¹], then the Ḥadīth is weak. ✒️ Sayyid al-Istighfār 📩 "What is the best Duʿāʾ for (seeking) forgiveness?" 🎙️ Shaykh ʾAbū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Jumʿān Ibn Ramaḍān Laḥmar (حفظه الله ورعاه): The hadith of Shaddād Ibn Aws: "Sayyid al-Istighfār is that the slave says: اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ O Allah! You are my Rabb; none has the right to be worshipped, but you. You created me, and I am your slave and I am faithful to my covenant and my commitment to you as far as I am able. I seek your refuge from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge before you all of the favours that you have bestowed upon me, and I confess to you all my sins. 6 Ways To Thank Allah after Mealtimes: 🏳️. Abu Umamah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said: “When the table cloth of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was raised [i.e. When he completed eating], he said: *الحَمْدُ لِلهِ كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ، غَيْرَ مَكْفِيٍّ وَلاَ مُوَدَّعٍ وَلاَ مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ، رَبَّنَا* Alhamdulillahi kathiran tayyibam mubarakan fih ghayra makfiyyiw wa la muwadda’iw wa la mustaghnan ‘anhu Rabbana/Rabbuna/Rabbina Translation: Abundant praise be to Allah which is pure, blessed and not considered to be sufficient. Our Rabb is never abandoned [i.e. People constantly beg from Him] and He is always needed. [Sahih Bukhari] 2️⃣. Abu Ayyub told that when Allah's Messenger ate or drank he said, “Praise be to Allah who has given food and drink, made it easy to swallow, and provided an exit for it.” عَن أبي أيوبٍ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَكَلَ أَوْ شَرِبَ قَالَ: «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَ وَسَقَى وَسَوَّغَهُ وَجَعَلَ لَهُ مخرجا» Reported by Abu Dawud and others. Graded Saheeh by Shaykh Muqbil in Saheeh Musnad collection. 🏳️. Mu’adh ibn Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “He who has taken food and says at the end: *الحمد الله الذي أطعمني هذا، ورزقنيه من غير حول مني ولا قوةٍ* ‘Al- hamdu lillahi-lladhi at’amani hadha, wa razaqanihi min ghairi haulin minni wa la quwwatin (All praise is due to Allah Who has given me food to eat and provided it without any endeavour on my part or any strength),’ All his past sins will be forgiven.” Reported by At-Tirmidhee and others, and declared authentic by Albany rahimahullah 4️⃣. A man narrated that whenever food was brought to the Prophet, sallahu alayhi as salaam, He would say bismillah and when He would finish eating He would say: كانَ إذا قُرِّبَ إليهِ طعامٌ قالَ : بسمِ اللهِ، فإذا فرغَ قالَ : *اللهمَّ إنَّكَ أطعمتَ و سقيتَ، و أغنيتَ و أقنيتَ، و هديتَ و اجتبيتَ، اللهمَّ فلكَ الحمدُ على ما أعطيتَ* "Oh Allah you have fed, gave drink, enriched, granted ownership, guided and chosen for your favour. Therefore, Oh Allah for you is praise for what you have provided." Saheeh al-Jaami' #4768 5️⃣. Narrated Abu Hurairah عن أبي هريرة قال دعا رجل من الأنصار النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال فانطلقنا معه فلما طعم وغسل يده قال: الْحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي يُطْعِمُ وَلَا يُطْعَمُ ، مَنَّ عَلَيْنَا فَهَدَانَا وَأَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا ، وَكُلَّ بَلَاءٍ حَسَنٍ أَبْلَانَا، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ ، وَسَقَى مِنَ الشَّرَابِ ، وَكَسَا مِنَ الْعُرْيِ ، وَهَدَى مِنَ الضَّلَالَةِ ، وَبَصَّرَ مِنَ الْعَمَى ، وَفَضَّلَ عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ تَفْضِيلًا ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ. Reported by Ibn Hibban and others. Graded Saheeh by Shaykh Muqbil rahimahullah in his Saheeh Musnad Collection. 6️⃣. Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) went to his bed, he would say: *الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا، وَكَفَانَا، وَآوَانَا، فَكَمْ مِمَّنْ لاَ كَافِيَ لَهُ وَلاَ مُؤْوِيَ* Alḥamdu lillāhil-lathī 'aṭ`amanā wa saqānā, wa kafānā, wa 'āwānā, fakam mimman lā kāfiya lahu wa lā mu'wī. "Praise is to Allah Who has provided us with food and with drink, sufficed us and gave us an abode, for how many are there with no provision and no home." [Muslim]
