🗣 Erik ten Hag on whether he wants to improve the forward line in January due to Cristiano Ronaldo’s situation and Anthony Martial’s injuries: “I count on Cristiano, so in this moment it is not an item.”

🗣 Erik ten Hag: “I think also what you see in our games – and therefore I was really happy with our performance on Wednesday – is we are getting high standards. You see it on the pitch; it reflects what we are constructing.”

🗣 Erik ten Hag: “To get that top sport culture, you have to set the highest standards, then we have to live along [those guidelines]. That’s what we are doing in this moment and that is not something [that] will happen or you construct in a couple of weeks. It will take time.”

🗣 Ten Hag: “When I get appointed I talk to the directors about the culture, about the top sport culture, standards and that's also why they appointed me. We had talks about how I lead. What my personality is, how I do it in a strategic way and about standards and my leadership.”

🗣 Erik ten Hag: “I count on him for the rest of the season. We want to fulfil our ambitions.”

🗣 Erik ten Hag asked whether there’s an argument for Cristiano Ronaldo to never play for #mufc again: “No. It's for this game, and then we continue. I'm open for that and for me that is a strike. What we stay in the statement is Cristiano remains an important part of the squad.”

Ten Hag: “Aaron Wan-Bissaka is back on the pitch, so that's good news, because we need everyone. We have so may games to cover, so we need a big squad, you need that you can pick players, that you have choice. So I'm happy with that process.” #MUFC

Lisandro Martínez: "For sure, our ambition is to win titles, to put #mufc where they deserve [to be] — I think we are in a good way to do it. But we have to keep our feet on the ground, we have to be humble and take it step by step." [sky]

Lisandro Martínez: "Now I am playing as a centre-back, I am feeling very well in that position. But if you have to play in midfield, if you have to play as a full-back, I will do it for the team. It is no problem. When the team needs you, you have to be there." [sky]

Lisandro Martínez: "I try to play like him [Gabriel Heinze]. We are a bit different as well, but I like his mentality." [sky]

Lisandro Martínez: "Gabriel Heinze is my idol. I love him. I love the way he played, very aggressive, good mentality, good mentality in the duels. Every game as a final. He was a top player." [sky]

Lisandro Martínez: "Football is always physical. You have to train always hard. You have to be ready. I always try to give 100 per cent." [sky]

Lisandro Martínez: "It is difficult. Especially in football, you don't have time. If you lose you are a really bad player or a really bad team. But we know what we are. We have to be calm, we have to be patient, and always try hard." [sky]

Lisandro Martínez: "Sometimes we have to be patient, you know. Especially in the beginning, we know that we did not play how we wanted. But it is part of football, we learn. It is experience. We have a new team, a new system. Now we have to keep going." [sky]

Lisandro Martínez: "It was very emotional for me to experience that love from the fans. It is also from me to them, that love. I am really happy because I came from nothing, you know. To come here to one of the best clubs in the world is very special." [sky]

Martial is still out, Ten Hag tells @SimonPeach. #mufc

Ten Hag on Graham Potter: "Now I know more about him and maybe in the first game [vs Brighton] he knew more about me, #mufc. It is not a fight between managers."

Ten Hag: "For me it is never an issue away from home. The pitch is the same size, 11 vs 11, there is a ref and we always have a lot of support from our fans — we feel strong."
