Tariff US kepada Malaysia dah diumumkan oleh Donald Trump.
Turun dpd 25% ke 19%
So apa kita boleh expect untuk pasaran Bursa Malaysia?
Saya share sikit view research UOB Kay Hian berkenaan tariff baru untuk Malaysia
✅Scenario 1: 19–20% Tariff
_Still in the sweet spot (before Reciprocal Tariff) | Onshoring momentum intact | Visibility improved_
While a 20% tariff still appear high on paper, optically and relatively with markets previously bracing for a 25% baseline, a 19–20% outcome is likely to be seen as better-than-expected, helping reinforce Malaysia’s level playing field vis-à-vis Vietnam (20%), Philippines (19%), Indonesia (19%), Thailand (36%).
Malaysia’s entrenched supply chains, robust industrial ecosystem, and strong base of MNCs continue to underpin its appeal as a resilient and scalable onshoring destination.

M+ Global Market Update – 31Jul25
Hawkish Tone Set By The Fed
US: Risk-off sentiment persisted on Wall Street ahead of the August 1st deadline on the trade war, coupled with Powell’s guidance of a slower easing cycle following the FOMC meeting, where the Fed kept the interest rate unchanged. Meanwhile, President Trump has announced a trade deal with South Korea, setting tariffs at 15% and S&P500 futures are rising after Meta’s and Microsoft’s better-than-expected results. Hence, we believe the market will be broadly positive as earnings are intact for the MAG7-related companies. In the commodities market, Brent Crude climbed toward USD72/bbl, Gold retreated to USD3,279/oz, and CPO prices held steady at RM4,259.
MY: Despite the Wall Street’s mixed performance, we expect the local bourse to start on a more positive tone, supported by Meta’s and Microsoft’s results. However, we expect the upward move to be limited as it is nearing the August 1st deadline on trade deals. Nevertheless, traders may focus on energy stocks like DELEUM and HIBISCS given the recent spike in Brent oil prices, while renewed buying interest may be seen in Industrial Products & Services after JPM’s upgrades on PCHEM, which eventually may boost the trading interest in LCTITAN. Besides, we like ADB for its strong net cash and high prospective dividend yield of more than 5%.
