The images describe the appearance of a beachfront area in Australia in 1950 and at this moment in time.
Overall, the area has undergone a radical transformation, one of which has come at the cost of a children’s playground. Changes in road infrastructure and the introduction of certain amenities have, in particular, made this coastal area more accessible for beach-goers.
In 1950, two swimming pools, each 25 meters long, were at public disposal at east and west ends of the seashore. The entire coastline was a beach area, and a lighthouse was located at a distance in the south-east. The area between the beach and the main road, linked this littoral region with the city in the west, was distributed into a large closed playground, a sitting area and a pavilion, whereas the road bent to the right in the east, leading to a car park.
At present, a surf club offers its service adjacent to each pool, one of which, in the west, has been doubled in size, and a new restaurant is also in the immediate vicinity of this very pool. With the expansion of the main road, driving directly to the lighthouse is now feasible. While the sitting area along with the pavilion remain intact, the playground has now been demolished, paving the way for another car park with direct access from the main road.

Who won and who lost?
It’s 22:00 yesterday, and I was going to sleep as usual to wake up early, but my wife holding snacks approached and asked to watch Football (Uzbekistan vs Portugal) together. My instant reaction was “No”, because when I watch and if the team I support loses, I get super upset and stressed. But still she persuaded me to watch together, claiming that it was our first time watching football together. I couldn’t say “No”.
The game kicked off and we started watching it with excitement, just like everyone in Uzbekistan. Playing against elite footballers like Ronaldo probably put a lot of pressure on our young talents, and the rival team started storming goals one after another while ours conceded these goals.
My wife obviously regretted watching this game with me, since I was shouting all the time and even wanted to throw something at the TV set, especially when our only goal didn’t count because there was a so-called foul. The Universe was not in our favor tonight, and even I am not a diehard fan, I still almost had a stroke watching the game.
But what comforted me was that the whole world, and I’m not only talking about Central Asian countries, was rooting for Uzbekistan. Perhaps, we lost the game, because we were the underdog and losing was inevitable, but we touched hearts worldwide. Now, the whole world knows our name. They no longer mispronounce our name and confuse it with Pakistan or Afghanistan. We’ll come back stronger!!!

Someone would have been excited to score an overall 8.0 but not Aziza. She’s embarrassed and disappointed at the same time. I like this mindset. Because she doesn’t have “quitting “ in her dictionary. She’s ready to retake writing and she will. Let’s support her and make duas, encouraging her to increase her writing. She’s just a 0.5 score shy away from getting an overall 8.5. I’m already proud of her, but she wants to break her own record and my reaction is “why not”!!!!

Omina, a young ambitious lady who used to be one of a few hardworking students in my class, has recently taken her test, scoring 7.0 (7.0 in writing) in her very first attempt. Her age, her personality or her hectic life couldn’t stand on her way, discouraging her from this success. She kept doubling down on her efforts, showing such a remarkable commitment at a young age. Sadly, she now sets new goals and pursues her academic journey. I said sadly, because our cooperation will come to an end. I enjoyed every moment of conducting classes and I think I’ll miss these moments. Proud of you Omina!!!

My country offers many environmental laws to ensure that air quality improves in every part of the country. These laws have been successfully contributing to the reduction of pollution levels, but waste management still remains as the main issue, nationwide.
As far as I know, waste is primarily disposed either through dumping it to landfill sites or incineration, a method in which waste is buried. My country is not among coastal nations that throw litter into the sea, since it’s a double-landlocked country. Anyway, I discourage the current method of waste disposal, because it not only damages air but also soil quality, not to mention its harm to human health.
None of these methods has so far proven to be effective. And I doubt whether anybody has ever tried alternative ways like recycling, the method used in green nations like Singapore for many years. Singapore, for instance, hardly ever disposes its waste, but instead recycles, making sure that it is reused for beneficial purposes.
I am certain that the successful use of this technique requires huge sums of investment, time and patience, but I don’t see any other ways of coping with waste or air pollution in my country. So, the only option seems recycling. However, I don’t hold the government accountable alone. I believe every household in the entire country should try their best to recycle their own waste, and certainly minimize the amount of waste they produce. For example, instead of relying heavily on a plastic bag, I suggest them to use paper bags. Or before throwing any old items into the dust bin, I think they should think about reusing these items for different purposes.
When or if, recycling becomes a priority in our consumer society, we can ultimately switch from a throwaway culture to an environmentally-friendly one.

This is one of the most common questions given to candidates at the beginning of their IELTS Speaking exam.
Can you describe your neighborhood briefly?
Here's a great answer!!!
I am a resident of a serene neighborhood in the city where people are hospitable and where I have access to many facilities and amenities, which make my life more convenient. For example, the gym I regularly go to is within a five-minute walk, and the kindergarten my kids attend is just a few meters from my house. Even though it is a densely-populated area, life is still peaceful, probably because people respect each other and avoid disturbing others.
