Traffic sign deflection:
this 3D FSI test case, the reaction of a traffic light plate due to a strong wind gust is simulated.

Tension analysis
🎯
With this series of examples you can study a specimen under tension and see the effects of different number of elements through thickness and different materials. Fifth example shows usage of shell elements and user defined material with piecewise linear plasticity and specified failure strain.

Contact 👇
Sliding interface example:
A box is lying on a plate. Contact between box bottom nodes and plate is specified with *CONTACT_TIED_NODES_TO_SURFACE keyword. A second plate above them is given an initial velocity in direction of the box. Contact between second plate and box upper nodes is specified with *CONTACT_AUTOMATIC_NODES_TO_SURFACE keyword

Fluid dynamics 👇👇👇
In this coupled DEM particles-CFD free surface example, water is being poured in a funnel filled with Styrofoam spheres causing stirring and flow deviation

LS-DYNA’s ICFD solver is capable of successfully solving highly non linear FSI problems such as artificial heart valves and addressing its numerous challenges : strong pressure gradients, similar solid and fluid material densities, thin leaflets that undergo strong deformations, extensive mesh deformation and frequent remeshing, gap leakage treatment and so forth.

Blood flows through an artery
👇👇👇
The Carrreau non newtonian model has been chosen to model the blood. Windkessel type boundary conditions have been imposed on the different vessel outlets symbolizing the external blood load. When this boundary condition is used, the pressure will be imposed function of the total flux and some circuit parameters. In the electrical analog, pressure represents the scalar potential and flux the total current.
