پاین اپل تیف (The Pineapple Thief) گروه پراگرسیو راک بریتانیایی که توسط بروس سورد (Bruce Soord) در سال 1999 در سامرست انگلستان تشکیل شد و تا کنون 12 آلبوم استدیویی منتشر کرده است. سورد آلبوم اول Abducting the Unicorn را که هواداران کم اما وفاداری برایش به همراه داشت؛ منتشر کرد. سورد به زودی مشغول ضبط آلبوم دومش 137 شد. لیبل های بزرگ به کار وی علاقه نشان دادند و همین امر باعث تاخیر دو ساله در انتشار این آلبوم شد. آلبوم سوم Variations on a Dream بود که توجهات وسیعی را به TPT جلب کرد و پرفروشترین هنرمند لیبلش Cyclops شد. در سال 2002 سورد تصمیم گرفت تا گروهی تشکیل دهد و موزیکش را به صورت زنده اجرا کند. اعضای گروه دوستان نزدیک موزیسین اون بودند. جان سایکس (Jon Sykes) بیسیست، وین هیگنز (Wayne Higgins) گیتاریست، مت اولری (Matt O'Leary) کیبوردیست و کیث هریسون (Keith Harrison) درامر اعضای گروه شدند. به عنوان گروه کامل آلبوم 12 Stories Down را منتشر کردند اما سورد از نتیجه ناراضی بود پس قطعات را دوباره ضبط و میکس و کرد و برخی قطعات را تغییر داد و 10 Stories Down در سال 2005 منتشر شد. اولری گروه را ترک کرد و استیو کیچ (Steve Kitch) جانشین او شد. پس از انتشار Little Man در سال 2006 آلبوم What We Have Sown در سال 2007 آخرین آلبوم گروه با Cyclops بود و با  Kscope قرارداد امضا کردند. هیگنز گروه را در سال 2008 ترک کرد و گروه به صورت 4 نفره به فعالیت و اجرای زنده ادامه داد. در همین سال آلبوم تحسین شده Tightly Unwound را منتشر کردند و مستندی از مصاحبه با گروه و دو اثر زنده نیز منتشر شد. در سال 2009 ای پی های The Dawn Raids و 3000 Days منتشر شد و در حمایت از ریورساید در تورهای انگلستانشان حضور یافتند. آلبوم  Little Man را سورد و کیچ در سال 2010 ریمیکس و منتشر کردند. آلبوم Someone Here Is Missing در سال 2010 با حضور استیون ویلسون و دنیل کاواناگ رونمایی شد و کاور آلبوم را استورم تورگرسون طراحی کرد. این آلبوم صدای تلخ و شیرین پراگرسیو گروه را به درجه بالاتری رساند. در سال 2012 اجراهای زنده و حضور در فستیوال های اروپایی داشتند و آلبوم زنده Someone Here Is Live را ارائه کردند. آلبوم بعدی گروه All the Wars منتشر شد و در بریتانیا تور برگزار کردند. در سال 2014 دن آزبورن (Dan Osborne) جانشین هریسون شد و آلبوم Magnolia را منتشر کردند که به رتبه 55 چارت بریتانیا رسید. در سال 2016 آلبوم Your Wilderness را با حضور گون هریسون (Gavin Harrison) درامر منتشر کردند. آلبوم دوازدهم گروه Dissolution در سال 2018 عرضه شد و تور برگزار کردند. در سال 2018 آلبوم Versions of the Truth و  It Leads to This سال 2024 را منتشر کردند.
