The author makes a good case for the author being Ghulam Khalil, not Barbahari, including some points I had not previously seen made. For me, this debate is settled unless someone can adduce some new evidence. However, whatever position one takes on identification of the author, it should be clear that it is a terrible text whose value - if there is any - is as a document or relic to be studied by historians, not as an expression of Islamic creed.
