A powerful speaker who was blacklisted by many mosques in North America because he chose to speak the truth on sexual impropriety in mosques, madrasahs, and mosque committees. Instead of paying heed to his advice, he was summarily dismissed by a bunch of juhhal who only see mosques as money-making tools.
If you feel the celebrity culture shaykh has gone too far in America, then this is the type of scholar we should all be supporting.

Reaching out to ask for your help for Imām Nick Pelletier, who sacrificed so much for our community by standing against injustice and protecting our children. Now, he’s faced with a financial emergency, working tirelessly just to make ends meet (car used for Uber broke down, unable to pay rent, etc). After years of dedicated service, it’s heartbreaking to see him in such dire need after being abandoned by our communities.
Please consider donating whatever you can to support him in this difficult time … no matter how small, every bit helps. JazākAllāhu khayr and may Allāh reward you immensely for helping a brother in dire need and may He suffice you in your times of need … Allāhumma Āmīn! 🤲

Everyone should know the work of Sh Danish Qasim and In Shaykh’s Clothing especially as we find ourselves in an era of charlatan shaykhs.
It’s not pretty, it’s not entertaining, but it’s necessary.

If you make the din ‘hip’, you will be responsible for creating a culture whereby people will be attached the din only if it offers them a rush of dopamine.
This means if that thrill is not present, there will be no interest in the din left.
The concept of sabr in the acquisition of religious knowledge does not register with ‘din = hip’ junkies.
Sure one can use the feel-good factor for initial da’wah, but that should be targeted at specific audiences who are either not Muslim at all, or are completely detached from the din. That is where your Mufti Menks and Tariq Jameels come in. That is where your slick American celebrity Shuyukh and social media influencers have a role to play.
But these personalities will only take you so far. People need to wean themselves off once they’ve hit the ceiling, otherwise they’ll become dopamine-driven religious enthusiasts, showing behaviours like those of drug addicts.
والنفس كالطفل ان تهمله شبّ على
حُبّ الرضاع وإن تفطمه ينفطم
Many won’t tell you this as they want people to remain in their own orbits and circles of influence. But the reality is one day, every Muslim on the journey to assuming serious religious knowledge and responsibility needs an Abu Dharr-like personality.
Know where you stand and don’t fall into the trap of becoming sucked into one Shaykh’s orbit.

I don't know if I fall foul of any American laws by commenting on this and jeopardising any legal process or whatever, but then frankly I'm not American, I don't care for anything American, and the only concern I actually have is falling foul of any Shar'i principle - which is usually focused on the sitr of humans falling into sin, but do not strictly apply in my opinion in this case due to the fact that everything is fully public knowledge already, but also because there is a public maslahah due to the student and child protection issue here. As for presumption of innocence, then yes this is an important principle to uphold regardless of how big the baying mob - rightfully or wrongfully - may be, especially in times where so many things can be faked. I don't have any problem taking the unpopular position of saying we should wait and let the evidence be established before we condemn someone, regardless of how emotive this case correctly is and regardless of how much hate you'll get from the public for even suggesting such a principle.
So let me theoretically play along and take the focus away from Wisam himself, and focus instead on the issue…

Even though it is a weak view, it is worth highlighting that some Central Asian Hanafi Fatawa books consider any delay in processing a prospective convert to Islam to be a nullifier of your own Islam.

This is a good book by the senior scholar Sh. Abdullah al-Juday'.
The book is about how to understand the prophetic reports on the beard, its length, and whether they indicate obligation or recommendation.
I believe there's a big divide between how this topic is perceived in the scholarly vs. public space, and also the classical views surrounding the issue.
Therefore, I hope to host a live Zoom session on this book, where I summarise the book contents and offer my own thoughts. The goal is to make the content accessible in English.
InSha'Allah, I'll host this next Sunday, 10th November at 8 PM (UK).
I'll share the Zoom link on this channel an hour before we start. It'll be a pleasure to have you all! 🙏

The right wing in the U.K. likes to harp on about the Religious Studies teacher in Batley who is now in ‘hiding’. This was the teacher who showed cartoons from Charlie Hebdo, thus putting children at risk from PREVENT in case any pupil objected to the method of that teaching.
The attached scan is from an official government sanctioned report prepared by the obnoxious Sara Khan - she did her best to counter these facts in this same report but she fell flat.
In a nutshell, the RS teacher - according to the police - is in self-imposed hiding. That’s on him, if he doesn’t want to trust the advice of U.K. security forces.
This is what the right-wing media and thugs won’t tell you.

This article is a summary of the content delivered at Cheadle Masjid’s Seerah Conference in Manchester on Saturday, 30th September 2023.
In our times, there may be nothing more vital for the Ummah than reconnecting with the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. This was the resounding message at the conference, a day dedicated to reflecting on the character of our beloved Prophet ﷺ and drawing lessons for the present.

The above paper by Dr Zeeshan Chaudri and Mufti Muntasir Zaman includes a number of endorsements at the end by a range of ulama of various ethnicities, madhhabs and religious denominations.

Imam Abd ‘l-Hayy Al-Laknawi (or Maulana Abdul Hayy of Lucknow) would refuse to offer his Isnad to his own students he felt were not competent enough.
They would beg him but he would not budge, until they would give up.
Compare him to some teachers now. Register online and you’ll get your Ijazah before xyz Mickey Mouse course even starts!

I can't believe how Barelwis spin this story as some sort of praise for Alahazrat. It is the ultimate gustakhi. Also, the idea that Alahazrat as a child had one long cloak on and no underwear seems to be far-fetched.
I would charge every last one of them with gustakhi for propagating this fabrication against Alahazrat.
