However, the revelation of truth, the legal addressing of wrongs and injustices, the accountability of those responsible, and their appearance in court will heal broken hearts. According to a Chichu resident who wished to remain anonymous, the killing occurred yesterday approximately two kilometers from the federal customs checkpoint while the young man was relaxing. The source also stated that the young man's life was lost due to a shot fired by a federal police officer. The source, who stated that the reason for the killing is not clearly known, told Tikvah Ethiopia that they heard it was "due to contraband." Another Chichu resident stated that after the young man's death was heard in the area, unrest occurred for several hours. They also indicated that there was shooting and some disturbance in the area. The source told Tikvah Ethiopia that the Gedeo Zone and Dilla City police, along with community elders and respected figures, worked on the issue, stabilized the situation, and restored peace. However, due to unanswered calls and the response "we will consolidate the information and inform you," additional police clarification was not included in this report.
