Ever since Heni passed, something about the way I see life has changed. I find myself thinking about my own mortality, about how one day I, too, will become someone’s memory. And strangely, it has made me hold on to people even tighter. I find myself fighting for friendships that are already dead, making one more call when I know nobody will pick up, staying one more day in places where I no longer feel wanted, and giving people chances they probably stopped asking for a long time ago. I think I’m becoming desperate to make the most of the time I have with people, even those who no longer wish to spend theirs with me. Because the thought of someone becoming unreachable, of a conversation ending forever, of never getting another chance to say what I should have said, has become unbearable in ways I cannot explain. I don’t know, maybe losing someone has made every other goodbye feel like a little death, and I’m just not ready to keep losing people.

Sometimes I see people being loved in the way I’ve always secretly wanted to be loved, and something inside me aches. Not because I’m jealous of them, but because it reminds me how badly I want that too. I want someone who knows me so deeply that I don’t always have to explain what’s wrong, who hears the silence in my “I’m fine,” remembers the smallest things I once told them, notices when my voice sounds different, and chooses me even on ordinary days.
Someone whose presence feels like reassurance, not confusion. Someone who makes me feel like I’m finally someone’s person, completely, quietly, deeply. I want a love where a hug feels like coming home, where I can be myself without wondering if I’m too much, and where my happiness matters simply because it’s mine.
And honestly, whenever I see someone being loved like that, my heart craves it so badly. It makes me want to fall in love again, to give someone all the love I still have inside me. But then my mind whispers, again.” Because my heart still believes in love, but my mind remembers what it cost me the last time. Maybe that’s the saddest part I don’t think I stopped wanting love. I just became afraid of what loving someone could do to me. Yet somewhere deep inside, I still hope that one day I’ll meet someone who makes my heart say, “See? This time, you’re safe.”

Some of you have been asking why I asked this question, and honestly, I would love to see more of you interact with this poll.
The reason behind it is that I’ve been having conversations about this with some of my friends: some more deeply than others: and I haven’t really come to an understanding with most of them. Well, one of my defining qualities is that I'm not afraid of being misunderstood, or even judged, for that matter.
Becha...
I am okay with killing to protect the people I love. And if I'm being completely honest, deep down, I think I'm capable of killing out of revenge, too.
At times, I recognize how far that is from the character of Christ. But my argument isn't about whether it's right or wrong in the eyes of God. My argument is about the human heart, about what we are capable of when our emotions get the better of us.
This is precisely why the Lord taught His disciples to pray for the Father to keep them from temptation. Because temptations, at times, can lead us down the path of unwanted actions—actions that our raw human nature might feel are necessary in the heat of the moment, yet stand entirely opposed to grace.
I know what Jesus would say. He gave His life for the worst of me.
Mind what I said? The worst of me.
I am nowhere near who Jesus is. I try to be like Him every day, trust me. But there are times when I fall short, and I hate that about myself. That’s why I pray every day, asking for His Spirit to guide me.
And yet, there is a profound truth here: the life Jesus lived, as much as it serves as a supreme example for us to replicate, was also lived so that we wouldn't have to pay the ultimate price of death. He was whipped so that we are healed. We shall not be whipped because He was whipped; we shouldn't be on the cross because He paid it all.
Philosophical, yet very true.
Because of this, thankfully, God has kept me from facing temptations of this nature. But I fear that if I were ever placed in such a situation, I might lose control of myself. At the same time, I trust that God would give me the courage and faith to choose His way, even when it feels impossible.
Until I am tested in that way, I cannot honestly say with certainty how I would respond. Deep down, I know there is a part of me that wants to take matters into my own hands when someone hurts the people I love.
And perhaps that’s the fragility of me: a man who wants to be like Christ, yet knows there are parts of his heart that are in question.
In other language: When people ask, "What would Jesus do?" : the answer is simple: He would die for them, even for those who do wrong by Him. Indeed, He already has. But as for me? I am far from Him. So I will simply pray that the Father spares me from a temptation so heavy.
