Real 44.1 kHz lossless audio reaches all the way to ~22 kHz as u can clearly see in the second screenshot from LastWave.(Nyquist frequency). This file dies instantly at 16 kHz(clearly visible in obsidian), which is classic 128 kbps lossy compression (web rip / low-tier stream) stretched inside a 24-bit wrapper. Conclusion -: The file expands from ~3–4 MB (original lossy) to ~20–30 MB (24-bit FLAC), but that extra 90% file size contains zero acoustic information—it is literally padding and computational overhead storing silence and empty bits. LastWave Desktop v1.1.1 hotfix is here. • Right Song, Every Time: Sometimes a remix or slowed version played instead of the original you picked. The player now sticks to the exact recording you asked for, and hands off cleanly when it can't. • Japanese Tracks Get Lossless: Songs billed in kana + romaji (like よあけのうた) were stuck on low-quality audio while Android played them in full quality. They now resolve to lossless like everything else. • Smarter Matching: The player is now much pickier about telling originals apart from remixes, live cuts, slowed edits and covers, across both lossless and YouTube sources. Old bad matches clear themselves automatically. • Real FLAC Downloads: Some lossless downloads were saved with the wrong extension. They now save as proper tagged .flac files. And honestly, it’s going to be crazy. 😭 From all the desktop music apps and clients I’ve seen so far, I can confidently say LastWave Desktop is one of the cleanest, and without a doubt, one of the best Discord music streaming clients out there. Of course, this is just the beginning. We’ll keep improving it and pushing it further. And a huge thanks to my bros. Without them, I genuinely wouldn’t have been able to keep pushing the Android version at full pace while they're working on this. I can’t even explain how grateful I am to Mrinmoy and Kehan brooo. ❤️

LastWave Desktop is coming today. This is not a port and not an Electron app — it’s built from scratch for desktop. Our regular Addon will also be supported on the desktop version. Windows & Linux users are good to go. Sorry, Mac users 🫩🥀 — we can’t promise the same priority for macOS right now. If you want to help fix macOS bugs and improve support, PRs are always welcome.
