Admin tends to try and keep stories he covers here relevant to North America. While this incident does not take place on the continent, admin feels it is still worth mentioning given that historically speaking, incidents like this are indeed how world wars start. Neither Ukraine nor Iran are in a position to meaningfully target eachother, but at this point, larger nations will need to take conscious steps to not allow the Third Gulf War to become a global conflict, which you almost certainly would be negatively affected by.

I did not plan on posting this message today, but admin has received word that Anthropic announced a new wave of AI programs breaching containment and orchestrating cyberattacks against multiple unnamed companies today. This follows close behind a series of cyberattacks on Minnesotan municipal water and wastewater treatment systems that the US is blaming on Iran. Admin will go into more detail about these incidents tomorrow - and whenever new info is revealed. Stay tuned as well for how the Indian government banned the internet to quell protests, and how a man has been flagged as a security risk for simply using a privacy-friendly graphene pixel phone. 37 year old Kansas physics teacher Lux Claridge was arrested at an Emporia City commission meeting for... clapping? Can you guess what the hearing was about?

The commission was discussing zoning changes to the 1,000 acre Flint Hills data center, which faces intense scrutiny over it's water/energy usage and noise pollution. Several locals came up to argue that the town does not want a data center, to which Claridge applauded and was promptly arrested and later booked on charges of "interference with law enforcement" and "disorderly conduct".

Claridge himself is not deterred by the incident, and plans to plead 'not guilty' this September. Other members of the community fear for their constitutional rights, with one unnamed local saying "I think we’re all in a state of fear because of what this government’s doing to us."

But usually he is not strong enough to rebel against the most basic values of society. Generally speaking, the goals of today's leftists are NOT in conflict with the accepted morality. GoGuardian is an AI surveillance company that specifically markets itself for K-12 schools, and is used by over 25 million kids across over 10,000 schools (half of the entire US's private and public school body). GoGuardian monitors searches, messaging and AI prompting on children's devices and compiles it into a "risk profile", which determines how much of a potential threat to the technological system each child could become. GoGuardian bases it's threat assessment on the National Institute of Standards and Technology's 'Artificial Risk Management Framework', which assesses children for the threat they pose to the following aspects of the system: 1.
