The Columbia Sportswear logo, adopted in 1978, consists of eight blue oval rectangles arranged in a rhombus pattern that some observers claim resembles a swastika. 🌟 The company officially states that the design is an abstract representation of woven textile threads, intended to symbolize the high quality and durability of their products, and denies any intentional resemblance to the Nazi symbol. Though it can’t be because the company was founded by Paul Lamfrom, a Jewish immigrant who fled Nazi Germany in 1938 with his family to Portland, Oregon, a fact often cited to refute claims that the logo was inspired by Nazi ideology.
