The coin-sized device can detect circulating cancer cells (CTCs) that break away from a tumor and travel through the bloodstream, potentially causing metastases.
The new microfluidic chip acts like a microscopic “trap”:
🔸 blood passes through a maze-like channel inside the chip, whose walls are coated with molecules designed to recognize cancer cells
🔸 cancer cells stick to the walls, while healthy blood cells continue flowing through
🔸 device can capture CTCs from just a few millilitres of blood in about 20 minutes, while keeping more than 95% of the captured cells alive and undamaged
🔸 tests on breast cancer cells showed the chip could detect 80–91% of CTCs without false-positive results
🔸 a single device can be 3D-printed in around 45 minutes, with its molecular “traps” tailored to different types of cancer
The technology could eventually allow doctors to track cancer progression through a routine blood test.

The ninth round of the joint Russia-Pakistan "Druzhba" military exercises has come to a close at Cherat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province in northwest Pakistan along the Afghan border, the Russian Embassy in Pakistan announced. | 10 |  🇮🇳 Mangal Pandey: The Soldier Who Defied British Rule
Before the uprising of 1857 spread across India, one Indian soldier openly challenged British authority.
Mangal Pandey, a sepoy of the 34th Bengal Native Infantry.
Indian soldiers were already deeply resentful of the East India Company’s rule. The controversy over the new Enfield cartridges, believed to contain cow and pig fat, became a major flashpoint, further angering both Hindu and Muslim soldiers.
On 29 March 1857, Pandey appeared on the parade ground with a loaded musket and called on his fellow soldiers to resist the British.
He attacked British officers. Many of his fellow sepoys refused orders to restrain him. Pandey was captured, court-martialled and hanged at Barrackpore on 8 April 1857.
But the British could execute a soldier. They could not suppress the growing anger against colonial rule.
On 10 May 1857, the uprising erupted at Meerut and soon spread to Delhi and other parts of northern and central India. The revolt was eventually suppressed with brutal force, but it shook the foundations of East India Company rule and became a defining chapter in India’s resistance to British colonialism.
Mangal Pandey did not end British rule. He became one of the early symbols of resistance to it.
His execution was meant to silence defiance.
Instead, his name became part of the story of India’s struggle for freedom. | 122 |

Indonesia will become the third foreign operator of China’s Jian-10CE fighter after Pakistan and Uzbekistan. According to Indonesian media, the first aircraft are expected to arrive in the country in April 2027, though the exact number in the initial batch remains undisclosed.
In October 2025, Jakarta confirmed the purchase of 42 Jian-10CE fighters at a cost of $9 billion. The new aircraft are intended to enhance Indonesia’s air force capabilities, which currently operate primarily Russian Su-27/30 fighters, American F-16s, and French Rafales.
