Umar Nazarovich Kremlev — the new President of IBF❗️ Today, at the Congress of the International Backgammon Federation, an important decision was made for the future of our intellectual sport. The event brought together 38 delegates from around the world. By unanimous decision of the full members Umar Nazarovich Kremlev has been elected President of the International Backgammon Federation. Before the vote, Umar Nazarovich delivered an inspiring speech in which he outlined his vision for the global development of backgammon and all the intellectual games — from strengthening international cooperation to expanding adult competitions and introducing children’s tournaments, as well as promoting backgammon and all the mind games . His experience speaks for itself. As President of the International Boxing Association (IBA), he implemented major reforms, raising governance standards, transparency, athlete support, and the international standing of the federation. Now this extensive expertise will be directed toward the development of backgammon worldwide. IBF is proud that a leader of this stature will guide the federation. We are confident that under his leadership, backgammon will reach new heights, expand its global footprint, strengthen its position in the international sports community, and move closer to becoming the world’s most prominent intellectual sport. Today marks a new chapter in the history of IBF. We congratulate Umar Nazarovich Kremlev — and the entire international community. The brightest achievements are ahead!

What you need to know before the start of the IBF tournament in Dubai? 1) How to get from the airport to the hotel 🛬 Terminal 1 Players arriving at Terminal 1 are the luckiest — the hotel is just a 5-minute walk away. Simply cross the bridge and you’re there. A taxi will cost approximately 6–7 USD. Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 The distance is slightly longer — about 10–12 minutes by car. A taxi ride will cost around 10–12 USD. 2) Tournament dress code 👔 The event follows a smart casual dress code. Please attend in neat, tidy clothing appropriate for an international sports event. 3) Free lunches from IBF — every day 🥪 A unique feature of this tournament: IBF provides free lunch to all players every day. Such care for athletes is rare even at the largest international competitions. 4) Registration and taxes ✅ The only deduction is a 5% tax, applied to prize money according to UAE regulations.
