Today, in our architecture series, we’re mentally jetting off to another magical spot in France — the Maison Heler hotel in the city of Metz. The project comes from Philippe Starck, who brought to life a long-held dream: a hotel topped with a cozy little house. The building beautifully symbolizes the meeting of past and future — a glass block panel represents modernity, while the classic European-style house pays homage to the region’s historical roots. And Starck, never one to skip a good story, even crafted a whimsical origin tale: according to legend, an inventor’s home was swept into the sky and gently dropped by the wind, perfectly intact, onto the hotel’s roof. Inside, the building holds 104 minimalist rooms, two restaurants, and bars. Just look at these shots — clearly, we need a teleporter, fast. #architecture@frontroww

As promised, we’re back with an update on *The Last of Us*. ⚠️ SPOILER ALERT ⚠️ While we both adored the episode, our paths to this story couldn’t have been more different. I only discovered the game—and the whole universe—after stumbling upon recent buzz about this new, highly praised series. So I’ll be sharing thoughts from the perspective of someone who’s just stepped into this world. Episode 9, titled “Look for the Light,” proves the second season will grip us just as fiercely as the first. Interestingly, this was the shortest episode yet—just 46 minutes long. Giving a standing ovation to Ashley Johnson is non-negotiable. She delivered a deeply emotional performance as Ellie’s mother, a role that carried profound personal weight. Why? Because Ashley voiced Ellie across both games—and now, incredibly, appears in the show itself, something almost unheard of in game adaptations. Stepping into the world as the character she helped bring to life was, in her words, surreal. “It’s rare for voice actors to be invited into the live-action adaptation of a video game. I was shocked, moved, and thrilled to still be part of this story, to help tell it in a whole new way. I’m grateful I got to play her mother—someone who fights to bring her into the world, who becomes the first to fight for Ellie’s life,” Ashley shared. And of course—Joel’s full-on *Rambo* mode at the episode’s climax? Brutal, chilling, and yet completely understandable. The thought of losing Ellie triggers a merciless survival instinct, where saving *her* outweighs any hope of saving humanity—or the world itself.
