Repost from Méditations d’Aphrodite
"Give me blood,
Fill my heart,
Every last vein,
Ram thoughts into my skull !
I'm not finished yet
with earthly life,
Not finished
with love on this planet."
-Vladimir Mayakovsky

I've always admired Asa Butterfield's performances, especially in the films he made as a child. He carries himself with a cetain melancholy as though an old soul had found itself in the body of a boy. There could hardly have been a better actor to play Hugo: a boy who, far too young, is forced to survive in a world of adults.

At 5 a.m. yesterday, I drifted off to sleep having just finished what may well be the most loveable film I've ever seen. I dremt that the sky was full of whimsical moons, stars and spirals that fell down like meteors into the grass only to explode into a burst of colour. And that is basically what Hugo is all about: a film that mixes into your imagination with such magic that even your dreams cannot help but blend into it, the kind of magic that lingers long after the credits roll sprinkling the ordinary meloncholic machinary of the world with stardust.
Hugo is less a film than a love letter: to childhood, to wonder, and to the dreamers who taught the world how to imagine. It follows an orphan boy who lives within the station's clocks, trying to repair the mysterious automaton left behind by his late father. As the story progresses we slowly unravel the secrets of George Mellies, who at first appears to be nothing more than an old grumpy toyshop owner, but is revealed to have the most fascinating past.

"I address you all tonight for who you truly are: wizards, mermaids, travelers, adventurers, and magicians. You are the true dreamers."

اعشق هاي الاغنية. سمعتها فد يوم بreel كانت بعدها ما released. حرفيا انتظرت اليوم الي تكون بي released بspotify حتى اسمعها كاملة و صارت بسرعة من مفضلاتي.
To me the music carries such an Arabic touch; it instantly takes me back to my childhood, far beyond the stars and right into the castle of my imagination.

I love those who are honest with themselves; who don't hide behind masks to conceal their true feelings, who are unashamed of their hearts, unashamed of being human. I admire those who treat themselves with the gentleness they would offer a child, who, when they do wrong, choose forgiveness and growth over building walls of ego while drowning in shame. I surround myself with souls like these because from their very fingertips, love erupts, filling every heart they touch with tranquility and deep acceptance.

Art is a tool. A method of externalizing the internal, giving us a sense of control over the uncontrollable.
