Sometimes the joy in life is the fresh bread you buy on your way home after spending a day with your family and realizing no matter what, they'll always be the same and you'll always be the mediator you never fucking asked to be in the first place and you're just trying to fix something that's already damaged beyond repair yet you still can't let go
But what can I say the fresh bread hits different

i still want to give, to gift, to please, to offer, for that i am not me if i don't and yet all i find in my palm is bloody teeth pulled out of the gum, waiting for a finger to bite.

Maybe that's all life is about everyone trying to tell each other stories. Maybe it really is why people started making noise with their mouths all those thousands and thousands of years ago until two of them found they were making sense. Cave paintings just couldn't cut it anymore. Hands and eyes are better suited to talk. A different way to say I want you, I need you, I love you.

(Haruki Murakam)

I'm tired of romanticizing everything and being so nostalgic
there's no reason for me to keep a candy wrap, a piece of string, a washed out ticket, a single broken bead and 2 cents but here i am clutching my box of memories like my most prized possession

I have felt you hanging around my neck and stuck in my throat, I have felt you streaming down my face, I have wished for our death and cried in our grave. the birds used to sing your name in the morning, now I wake up to their silence, for they, too, are afraid. I would bury myself inside of you if I could, I think that would solve this.

you have been dead and alive again, you have been roses and the dirt, you have been birch wood and you have been coal and you have been the storm and you have been the cold.

But I'm Emily's flickering lantern when she knocked and banged on each door to find herself

Ofc I would know smth is going on when she circles the kitchen with her hands behind her back, looking like a detective who is close to crack the case
