📚 Advanced English Mistake – C2 Level ⚡ ❌ "Scarcely had I entered when the phone rang." ✅ "Scarcely had I entered when the phone rang."✔️ OR ✅ "Scarcely had I entered before the phone rang." ✔️ ❌ "Scarcely had I entered than the phone rang." 💡 With "scarcely", use "when" (or sometimes "before"), not "than." Remember: No sooner... than Scarcely/Hardly... when 🌟 Small word choices can make a big difference in advanced English.

📖 Rules for Changing Direct Speech to Indirect Speech 🇬🇧 ✨ Negative Commands and Requests are changed using not to + verb. 📝 Rules: 🚫 Use told + object + not to + verb for negative commands. 🙏 Use asked/requested + object + not to + verb for negative requests. 🗣 Direct: "Do not touch the switch," the teacher said to the students. 💬 Indirect: The teacher told the students not to touch the switch. 🗣 Direct: "Please don't be late," she said to me. 💬 Indirect: She requested me not to be late. 🗣 Direct: "Don't waste your time," the father said to his son. 💬 Indirect: The father advised his son not to waste his time. 🌟 Remember: Negative imperatives usually become "not to + verb" in indirect speech!✨🚫📚

Before that, i'd like to share some tips for gapped text • Read the entire passage quickly to understand the main idea before focusing on the gaps. • Study the sentences before and after each gap, as they often provide clues to the correct answer. • Pay attention to linking words such as however, therefore, for example, in addition etc.Eliminate options that clearly do not match the context or flow of the text. • Make sure the pronouns, tenses, and ideas connect logically with the surrounding sentences. • Each answer should help the passage develop smoothly, whether by giving an explanation, example, contrast, or extra detail. • After completing all six gaps, read the passage from beginning to end to check that it sounds natural and coherent. Hope this helps!😉 @getreadyspm
