قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: هل تخرج زكاة الفطر نقدًا؟ • Is Zakat al-Fitr to be given in cash? النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فرضها طعامًا • The Prophet ﷺ obligated it to be given as food. النبي أخرجها طعامًا حتى مات مع حاجة الصحابة للنقود • The Prophet ﷺ gave it as food until he passed away, despite the companions’ need for money. الصحابة أخرجوها طعامًا • The companions gave it as food. اتفق العلماء على صحتها طعامًا، واختلفوا في صحتها نقدًا، وأكثرهم على عدم الصحة • The scholars unanimously agreed on its validity when given as food, but differed on its validity when given in cash—and most of them held it is not valid. تُخرج صاعًا من أي طعام، مع أن قيمة الأطعمة تختلف، فالقيمة لا مدخل لها • It is to be given as one sā‘ of any food, even though food prices differ—so monetary value has no role in this. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: أخي أختاه، أتعلم ما في هذا اليوم؟ • My brother, my sister—do you know what this day holds? إنه يوم جمعة، وفيه ساعة لا يوافقها عبد مسلم قائم يصلي يسأل الله شيئًا إلا أعطاه إياه، وأرجى ما يكون وقتًا لها ما بين العصر والمغرب، فإذا صليت العصر وبقيت في المسجد فأنت من المصلين. • It is a Friday, and within it is a time during which no Muslim servant stands in prayer asking Allah for something except that He grants it to him. And the most likely time for it is between ‘Asr and Maghrib—so if you pray ‘Asr and remain in the masjid, then you are from those standing in prayer. وهذا اليوم من رمضان وأنت صائم، وللصائم دعوة لا تُرد. • And this day is in Ramadan, and you are fasting—and the fasting person has a supplication that is not rejected. ثم بالغروب ستدخل ليلة تسع وعشرين، وهي ليلة وترية يُعظَم فيها رجاء ليلة القدر، وقد تكون آخر ليلة من رمضان فيعظُم رجاء أن تكون ليلة القدر، ومن خير الأعمال في ليلة القدر الدعاء. • Then at sunset, the night of the twenty-ninth will begin—a witr night in which the hope for Laylat al-Qadr is heightened. And it may be the last night of Ramadan, increasing the likelihood that it is Laylat al-Qadr. And among the best deeds in Laylat al-Qadr is supplication. فالدعاء، الدعاء الخاص والعام، فهذه فرصة عظيمة فاغتنموها، • So make du‘ā’—private and general supplications—for this is a great opportunity, so seize it. أكثروا من الدعاء الخاص لكم ولأهليكم ولذرياتكم ولأقاربكم ومن تحبون، • Increase in supplication for yourselves, your families, your children, your relatives, and those whom you love. وأكثروا من الدعاء لعلمائكم وولاة أمركم وبلدانكم، • And increase in supplication for your scholars, your rulers, and your countries. وللمستضعفين من المسلمين، ولكل من يعمل بإخلاص، • And for the oppressed Muslims, and for everyone who works with sincerity. وللمسلمين والمسلمات، وأكثروا من الدعاء بأن يكفي الله المسلمين شرور الفتن والفتانين. • And for all the Muslim men and women. قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: الاجتهادَ في الخَواتيم يُجبر به التَقصيرُ في الأوائل، • Striving in the endings compensates for the shortcomings in the beginnings, فإذا اجتهدتَ في خَواتيم الشَهر فإن هذا بإذن اللَّه يُجبر به تقصيرُك في أول الشهر. • So if you strive in the end of the month, then by Allah’s permission, your shortcomings in the beginning of the month will be rectified. فوصِيتي لنفسي ولإخواني المؤمنين والمؤمنات: أن نعتني عنايةً عَظيمةً بالاجتهاد في هذه العشر. • So my advice to myself and to my believing brothers and sisters is to give great care to striving hard in these last ten [nights]. قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: نصيحة محب: احرص الليلة على أن تقوم مع إمامك حتى ينصرف، • An advice from someone who loves you: Be keen tonight to pray with your imam until he finishes. فإن من قام مع إمامه حتى ينصرف كان كأنه قد قام الليلة كلها، وكتب له قيام ليلة، • For whoever stands in prayer with his imam until he finishes, it is as if he stood the entire night in prayer, and the reward of praying a whole night will be recorded for him. فإن وافقت الليلة ليلة القدر كنت كمن قام ليلة القدر كلها، ويا فوز من قام ليلة القدر، • And if this night coincides with Laylat al-Qadr, it is as if you stood in prayer the entire night of Laylat al-Qadr—and how great is the success of the one who stands in prayer on Laylat al-Qadr. ومن قام ليلة القدر إيمانا واحتسابا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه. • And whoever stands in prayer during Laylat al-Qadr with iman and seeking reward will have his past sins forgiven. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

Say As the Prophet ﷺ Said: The Perfect Duʿā’ for Laylat al-Qadr – Beware of Adding Words! Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli حفظه الله

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: الليلة ليلة سبع وعشرين، وهي أرجى الليالي لليلة القدر: • Tonight is the night of the 27th, and it is the most likely night for Laylat al-Qadr. فهي من العشر الأواخر، والسبع البواقي، وليلة وترية، وعظم اجتهاد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فيها، وجمع أهله لصلاة القيام جماعة، وصلى بأصحابه جماعة، ومد الصلاة فيها من بعد العشاء إلى قرب الفجر، • For it is from the last ten nights, and from the remaining seven, and it is an odd night. The Prophet ﷺ exerted great effort in it, gathered his family for the night prayer in congregation, led his companions in congregation, and extended the prayer from after ‘Isha until close to Fajr. وكان جمع من الصحابة رضوان الله عليهم لا يشكون أنها ليلة القدر، • And a group of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, had no doubt that it was Laylat al-Qadr. ونص جمع من السلف على أنها ليلة القدر، • And a group from the Salaf explicitly stated that it is Laylat al-Qadr. وذكر جماعة من الذين يقولون إن ليلة القدر تتنقل في الليالي الوترية أن أكثر ما تقع في ليلة سبع وعشرين، • And a group among those who say that Laylat al-Qadr moves among the odd nights have mentioned that it most frequently occurs on the 27th night. والأدلة فيها أكثر من غيرها، • And the evidences for it being so are more than for any other night. فالمحروم من ضيعها. • So truly deprived is the one who lets it go to waste. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: الليلة ليلة ثلاث وعشرين من أرجى ليالي العشر لليلة القدر من غير جزم، • Tonight is the night of the twenty-third, one of the nights most hoped for to be Laylat al-Qadr, though not with certainty. فقد قال عبدالله بن أنيس الجهني رضي الله عنه: • For ‘Abdullah ibn Unays al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, said: يا رسول الله، إني أكون بباديتي وإني أصلي بهم، فمرني بليلة في هذا الشهر أنزلها إلى المسجد – أي مسجد النبي ﷺ – فأصلي فيه، • “O Messenger of Allah, I live in the desert and I lead them in prayer, so command me with a night in this month on which I should come down to the mosque – meaning the mosque of the Prophet ﷺ – and pray in it.” فقال: انزل في ليلة ثلاث وعشرين. • He ﷺ said: “Come down on the twenty-third night.” فكان يفعل ذلك، • So he used to do that. وكان السلف يزداد اهتمامهم بليلة ثلاث وعشرين، • And the Salaf used to increase in their attention to the twenty-third night. فقد كانت أمنا عائشة رضي الله عنها توقظ أهلها هذه الليلة، • For our mother A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, used to awaken her family on this night. وكان ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما يرش على أهله الماء هذه الليلة. • And Ibn ‘Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, used to sprinkle water on his family on this night. فوصيتي لنفسي وللمؤمنين والمؤمنات أن يحرصوا على مزيدٍ من الاجتهاد في هذه الليلة. • So my advice to myself and to the believing men and women is that they strive even more in worship on this night. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: من أجل العبادات في ليالي العشر الأخيرة من رمضان الدعاء بجوامع الدعاء، • Among the greatest acts of worship during the last ten nights of Ramadan is making supplication with comprehensive and encompassing duas, وأنفعها في العشر: (اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني). • And the most beneficial of them in the ten nights is: “O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, You love to pardon, so pardon me.” تقول أمنا عائشة رضي الله عنها: قلت: يا رسول الله، أرأيت إن علمتُ أيَّ ليلةٍ ليلةُ القدر، ما أقول فيها؟ • Our mother ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, if I know which night is the Night of Decree, what should I say in it?” قال: قولي: اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني. • He ﷺ said: “Say: O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, You love to pardon, so pardon me.” وقالت رضي الله عنها: لو علمتُ أي ليلةٍ ليلةُ القدر، لكان أكثر دعائي فيها أن أسأل الله العفو والعافية. • And she, may Allah be pleased with her, said: “If I knew which night was Laylat al-Qadr, then the majority of my supplication in it would be asking Allah for pardon and well-being.” https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli
