Your mission is simple: identify a real problem in education and build a technology-driven solution that makes a meaningful difference.

| 7 | just found out why mongodb atlas throws an error when connecting using Safaricom data on development
If it keeps throwing querySrv ECONNREFUSED errors when using safari network, MongoDB Atlas isn't actually blocked.
The issue is that Safaricom’s default DNS currently fails to resolve MongoDB's short mongodb+srv:// SRV records. (Ethio Telecom handles them fine, which makes it super confusing).
You have two quick fixes for this:
1️⃣ The Quick Code Fix: In your Atlas dashboard, when grabbing your connection string, look for the older driver options or toggle off the "SRV Connection String" button. Use the standard legacy string format (the long one with explicit :27017 ports). It bypasses the DNS issue completely and works seamlessly.
2️⃣ The Network Fix: Just change your PC/Mac network settings to use a public DNS like Google (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1). Once you do that, the standard mongodb+srv:// string starts working instantly on Safaricom data.

There is something about the word guest that never leaves my mind.
A guest arrives gently. They don’t own the place they enter. They are welcomed, they leave footprints, they share laughter over a table, and one day, they quietly say goodbye.
Maybe that is what we are.
Guests.
We spend our lives saying “We’re having guests over” or “Thank you for being our guest” as if the role belongs only to those who visit our homes. Yet we rarely stop to realize that every one of us was invited into a world that existed long before we arrived and will continue long after we leave.
We are guests of this earth.
Guests of borrowed mornings, borrowed sunsets, borrowed conversations that somehow become memories. Even the people we love are not possessions; they are guests in our hearts, just as we are guests in theirs. We meet, we change one another, and we carry pieces of each other into places we may never return to.
Perhaps that is why kindness matters so much.
Because none of us truly owns this place. We are simply passing through, sharing the same sky for a little while.
The word guest reminds me to walk a little softer, to speak a little gentler, to hold people with open hands instead of closed fists. It reminds me that life was never meant to be possessed—it was meant to be experienced.
And maybe the greatest privilege of all is not that we get to stay.
It’s that, for a brief and beautiful moment, we were invited.
