Kâlî es la Negra, o la Noche (râtri). Karâlî es la Terrible (Karâlâ es un epíteto de Durgâ; karâla también significa “abierto de par en par”, “boquiabierto”, como el abismo; Manojavâ significa de pensamiento rápido, tan rápido como el pensamiento; Dhûminî significa “humo”, “nublado”, “brumoso”). Shvetâ es la Blanca (o Shukra, Venus). Sulohitâ, la Muy Roja. Sudhûmravarnâ es del color del humo (equivalente a Dhîmunî). Nîlalohitâ, la “azul-roja” o “rojo oscuro” (un epíteto de Shiva). Sphulinginî, la Brillante. Survarna, oro. Padmarâgâ, rubí. Vishvarucî, la Que Irradia, correspondiente a Satya, o Agnijhiva son las siete lenguas del fuego sacrificial, que corresponden a los siete mundos (a los que destruyen o hacen madurar, pakva), a los siete cakram del “cuerpo sutil” (suksma shârîram): Kâlî es la primera y la única, pues ella es el fuego (Agni) en el fuego, la oscuridad del fuego, el fuego del fin, el fuego destructor, que es, por tanto, el tiempo, el destructor del tiempo y la Muerte.
