Things to carry in exams: CONFIDENCE 💯 * Pens – Only black ball point pens allowed (no blue, no gel, no fountain pens) * Pencils * Sharpener * Ruler * Eraser * Admit Card * Transparent Writing Pad (if required) – safer to carry, you don’t know the condition at the centre * Calculator – keep 2 if possible * Water Bottle (transparent) * Wallet * Handkerchief * Watch * Aadhaar Card Keep all your stationery in a transparent pouch Since it’s your first exam, reach the centre well before time. 5 minutes less revision is okay, but 5 minutes late to the exam hall is not okay at all. Very Important: Don’t discuss anything before the exam with friends — stay focused, stay in your zone. Students are protesting online for changes in exam timings and the postponement of exams due to scorching heat. ICAI won’t flinch a bit but we can still try if a large number of students email them. CA exams already demand extreme levels of focus, endurance, and mental strength. In such severe heat conditions, it becomes even more difficult for students to perform at their true potential. Thousands of CA students across the country are facing this issue, making it a shared concern that needs attention ⚠️ *E-MAIL FORMAT* *Request to Revise CA Exam (May 2026) Timings Due to Severe Heatwave* Respected Sir/Madam, I am writing to raise concern regarding the current CA examination timings (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM) amidst the ongoing severe heatwave across India. As per advisories by the India Meteorological Department and recent reports: Temperatures across many regions are exceeding 45–49°C. India currently accounts for 50 out of the world’s 50 hottest cities, indicating extreme conditions. Peak afternoon hours pose a high risk of heatstroke, dehydration, and exhaustion. Sunstrokes have proven to be fatal in the past. Authorities are advising people to avoid stepping out during these hours. Several institutions have already adjusted schedules to protect students. In this situation: Students have to travel during peak heat hours. Many exam centres lack adequate cooling or ventilation. Extreme heat can negatively impact health, focus, and performance during crucial exams. I sincerely request the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to: Reschedule exams to cooler hours (morning/evening), and/or Ensure better cooling, ventilation, and hydration facilities at centres.
