I forgot to report this yesterday, but the Russian invasion of Ukraine has now officially lasted longer than World War One at 1,568 days.

Hamas issued a statement expressing support for the IED attack against IDF forces in Jenin, but did not directly claim responsibility for it. This further suggests that the Saraya Al-Quds Brigade's (PIJ) Jenin Battalion was indeed responsible for the attack. This group has been largely dormant for the last several months, with only isolated reports of ambushes against Israeli forces during IDF raids on the nearby town of Silat al-Harithiya in late 2025 and early 2026.

Palestinian fighters, presumably from the local West Bank armed group "Jenin Battalion", detonated an IED against a group of Israeli soldiers during an IDF raid on the Jabariat Neighbourhood of Jenin, just outside the Jenin Refugee Camp. The IDF acknowledged that a combat officer was "seriously injured", while a Non-Commissioned Officer was "lightly injured". Evacuation helicopters were deployed to extract them from the area. This is the first reported Palestinian armed attack against the IDF in the West Bank in over a month. Jenin Refugee Camp and the surrounding areas has been under IDF occupation since early 2025, which effectively dismantled the main part of the Jenin Battalion as a part of Operation "Iron Walls". Since then, attacks against Israeli forces have been becoming increasingly rare.
