AI is helping ship software faster. But can the developer using it explain how it works properly? At the Stark Official Hackathon last week, 79 submissions produced just five finalists. Judges said many entries showed more evidence of machine-generated code than original thinking. The winners stood out for a different reason: they could explain their work, defend their decisions, and show where AI had helped. From a game inspired by the legend of Kaldi to an AI platform that challenges startup ideas, the competition offered a glimpse of what building with AI demands beyond a working demo.
