📍📍JUST IN 📍📍 Rashid Ibrahim, President of National Union of Ghana Students, has announced a formal petition to the Rent Control Department and Ministry of Works and Housing over alleged widespread abuse of rent regulations affecting students. He cites illegal rent hikes, overcrowded and poor living conditions and intimidation of students who report landlords, practices that violate the Rent Act, 1963 (Act 220). NUGS is demanding strict enforcement of rent laws and warns it may take legal action or publicly expose non-compliant landlords if authorities fail to act, as rising accommodation costs continue to limit students’ access to education.
