Are you happy that AI was invented, or would you rather do everything yourself?
By "AI," I mean the major AI breakthrough that happened around 4–5 years ago. Has it made your life better, worse, or just different?

Whenever I talk about people on social media building successful products, bootstrapping startups or anything ambitious... people seem to be interested and amazed until they know that the person we're talking about is not Ethiopian.
I think the problem might be a lot of us underestimate ourselves.

4 days ago, I decided to start a challenge.
I uninstalled all the short-form social media apps I use — basically TikTok and Instagram.
I actually deleted my TikTok account over a year ago before reinstalling it 2–3 months back. At the time, I couldn't quite explain what I disliked about it. It just never felt right to keep scrolling endlessly in search of the next funny video.
(Of course, I know many people use it for different reasons. That's just not how I was using it.)
Instagram was my go-to platform whenever I got bored. Recently, I've come to realize that boredom isn't necessarily something to avoid.
I understand that these platforms can be used to find content that's relevant to you, but I don't think that's always the same as getting what you actually wanted. It's still consumption, and like anything else, too much of it can become a problem.
Telegram is better for me because it's more of a "choose your content" platform. Consumerism can still happen there too, especially when you keep joining channels and convince yourself you're engaging with a community.
My belief is simple: the more you consume, the less time you have to create.
For the next 6 months, I'm challenging myself to create more than I consume.
Telegram
I've switched to a separate Telegram account with zero subscriptions to reduce distractions. I still occasionally check a few channels, but much less than before.
X
I'll be posting updates about my projects there. It's not as controlled as Telegram, but the algorithm does a surprisingly good job of showing me things I'm actually interested in. Still, I'll be trying to limit consumption there as well 😁
If this challenge sounds interesting to you, feel free to join me starting today.
You can begin by muting this channel... or leaving it. I wouldn't recommend the latter 😂
Maybe this is too much.
We're about to find out.
I'll be sharing updates along the way ✌️

Introducing ICare
I built ICare because I spend most of my day staring at a screen and kept forgetting to take breaks until my eyes started hurting.
ICare reminds you to follow the 20-20-20 rule by nudging you every 20 minutes to look away from your screen for 20 seconds. If you're really stubborn, Smart Eye Mode can block your screen for 20 seconds and force the break
To make things more fun, I added:
- Analytics to track your habits
- Streaks and badges to keep you motivated
- Different popup personalities
- A Savage Mode that might roast you for ignoring your eye health
I wanted ICare to be simple, useful, and a little entertaining.
I've been using it myself, and it's already helping me build healthier screen habits. I hope it helps you too.

If you try it out, I'd love to hear your feedback.
