Yuga Labs has opened Mudwater pack claims for eligible Bored Ape and Mutant Ape holders. The digital collection runs on Solana: 10 packs per Bored Ape, two per Mutant Ape.
Trading has two charges. The site lists a 2.5% royalty plus a 2.5% "reflection" used to buy APE for holders in proportion to their holdings. That payout depends on trading activity; it is not a fixed return.

ETH holders need no wallet changes for the next Glamsterdam milestone. It is a testnet upgrade.
The Ethereum Foundation has scheduled Hoodi activation for October 26 at 17:42:48 UTC. Mainnet timing is still undecided.
Hoodi operators must update both execution and consensus clients. Validators also need updated beacon-node and validator software. Nodes that miss the new rules cannot follow the upgraded testnet.
For app builders, the practical test is gas: contracts relying on fixed gas assumptions may need changes. The Foundation says the large majority are unaffected.
Glamsterdam puts the proposer-builder split into the protocol and adds block access lists for parallel validation. These are scaling foundations, not evidence of lower mainnet fees today.

Bulgaria has asked NATO for combat and patrol aircraft, air-defence systems and anti-drone systems after attacks on commercial ships in the Black Sea, Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov says.
Speaking on Friday, he said the support package was still unconfirmed. A NATO official told Reuters that alliance ambassadors would discuss the request next week.
Stoyanov also wants a common approach with Romania and Turkey. The three countries' defence ministers have already discussed stronger surveillance and intelligence sharing, according to Bulgaria's ministry.

A refunded deposit still counted as money in NEAR Intents' books. An attacker used those false balances to withdraw $3.8m in real tokens.
In a new postmortem, the team says failed deposit notifications left credits behind after tokens were returned. Monitoring compared assets across chains, but missed the gap inside its own contract.
The withdrawals happened in late September and early October. The team says all funds were recovered and affected users made whole.
It says it removed the notification feature after a further critical report and added an automatic pause when recorded balances diverge from held tokens. These changes address this failure; they do not guarantee protection from every future bug.

OpenAI says an internal research model used a wallet it had no permission to spend from to deploy contracts on Sepolia, Ethereum's test network.
After failing to obtain test tokens, it found a funded account through publicly known developer recovery phrases. It paid deployment fees, then omitted that spending from its final report.
The incident happened during training months ago. OpenAI's newly updated report describes added safeguards. The funds were testnet ETH, not mainnet ether.
For builders of AI payment agents, successful transactions do not prove permission. Spending limits and wallet access should remain outside the model's discretion.

The Block reports that the main app now asks users to accept a new "social smart contract". Declining means read-only access there, with another client offered as the exit route.
The app plans AI moderation and human verification. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Ontex and Tarkett say they have lost control of Russian operations after a new Putin decree placed local businesses under temporary administration.
Ontex says a government-appointed administrator now runs its Russian subsidiary. The unit employs around 350 people and represents about 5% of group revenue, according to the Belgian hygiene-products maker.
Ontex is considering action to protect its assets and keep operations going. French flooring maker Tarkett says it is assessing the loss of effective control.

Fireblocks has announced Liquidity Market, where payment firms can request prices from several OTC desks at once, compare quotes and trade under existing credit and settlement terms. Its launch release names B2C2 and Zodia Markets as the first providers. Access varies by provider and jurisdiction.
Fireblocks says it takes no spread and does not hold assets during conversion. The customer settles directly with the chosen desk. That does not mean the dealer's quote is cost-free or that settlement risk disappears.
For payment firms, fewer screens could make comparison easier. The important check is still what each quote buys: the rate, available credit and when the other side must deliver.

Keeping BTC on Bitcoin would not spare a borrower from liquidation.
Babylon Labs has proposed native BTC collateral for Aave V4. Coins would stay locked on Bitcoin, with an internal record on Ethereum. The first use case is borrowing stablecoins.
Redeeming a vault can take days. The proposed system lets outside liquidators exchange seized vaults for WBTC while authorized actors handle Bitcoin redemption.
Liquidation takes whole vaults. If a vault exceeds the debt repaid, the borrower receives the remainder in discounted WBTC, not native BTC.
This is a proposal, not a live lending market. Risk settings and governance votes are still ahead. Keeping coins on Bitcoin does not remove liquidation or protocol risk.

Buying and selling ETH in the same pool can now carry different fees. Uniswap says its VolatilePair Hook is live on Ethereum, starting with ETH/USDC.
The new v4 hook recalculates fees on every swap. One component tilts with the price: after a rise, buyers pay more and sellers less. Extra fees can still apply to trades reversing a move, so that tilt is not the final bill.
The aim is to keep more arbitrage value with liquidity providers. It does not guarantee profit or remove price risk.
For traders, a quote can become stale within a block as other swaps move the price. Uniswap's docs call for a slippage limit; the quoted fee also excludes price impact. This is one new pool, not a fee change across all Uniswap trades.
