if i ever had a cafe, i would have a broke-accino on my menu ... that's a cappuccino but its also coffee and milk, and its also from yesterday, and its also good with cheap cigarettes on the side. but the broke writer who always sits in the corner doesn't mind, he just wants to be in the space, and he wants to be there all the time, preferably with something warm between his hands, he has called it home, and i cant find myself to evict him. he comes before we wipe the tables so when he leaves there are dust marks the exact size of his laptop, his hands, his phone, his journal and even dust marks of his perfect tiny butt still resides on the chair. i would often go to him with his order already in my hands, and he'd lasso me into his world with his sharp tongue and his slow gestures. he doesn't look me in the eye too often but when he does, i wouldn't be able to leave. i'd move into the tiny home he has made with his thoughts in the quite shaded corner of my little cafe, preferably with a broke-acciono also in my hands. some people pay with presence more than they can ever pay in monetary value. thats the price of my broke-accino, your presence.
#WRITINGSGood morning babes
me rants
so, for me to ask for something, it always has to be tied to an achievement.
if I want something, it means I have to earn it usually through good grades. because of that, I’ve learned to delay my needs, attaching them to academic success.
almost everything I own feels like a reward for that kind of pressure, that quiet academic slavery.
and now, whenever my grades don’t look good,
it feels like I’ve lost the right to even ask for what I need.
good, in a way, because it gives you the right to demand.
but bad, in another way, because you start to associate everything with it.
nothing comes freely even your needs feel earned, never given.
Good morning.
You know what I realized? If I were rich, I would spend the money on things like arrogant people in kebeles, traffic, and those who waste my time just because they think they have some power over me. If you try to waste my time, I will make you beg, like I will make you know how going against the law is.
And that guys,
is why I will never be rich.
i keep rescheduling my side quests. today i had to go out, but i got scared of not getting a taxi, so i decided to go halfway by bus. the thing about buses is, i always forget that you will get pushed and you will push too.
i kept saying sorry to the lady in front of me, again and again, even though it wasn’t really my fault. the guy next to me got frustrated and said, “bus eko nw megfatsh aykerm” then offered me a place on the side( lovely human)
the thing is i’d rather walk or just wait for a taxi. i know it makes me sound like a brat, but i’ve gotten so used to the same short routes, or mostly not going out at all, that buses just suffocate the shit out of me. it’s too much too close, too loud, too out of my control.
and i think i should work on my endless “sorrys.” i keep apologizing for things i can’t control, like taking up space in a place where everyone is doing the same. i need to stop feeling guilty for just…..being there.
if its ai or April the fool mnamn
i will literally give up on myself,
because how much i keep getting fooled.
