| 4 | 🚨 BREAKING! A group of autonomous New School community members consisting of students, staff, and faculty have de-occupied the 301 Residence Hall! 🚨
Their demands of The New School are as follows:
1. Divest from Genocide
2. End partnership with the Israel Conservatory of Music (ICM) in Tel Aviv
3. Stipulate to a NEWSWU Election
4. Resignation of the current TNS Board of Trustees
5. Commit to student wellbeing and no cops on campus
The community has spoken and will continue to act until divestment is achieved!

We have received documentation of an autonomous action enacted early this morning: A crime scene staged outside of New School buildings, including the formerly de-occupied Lama Jamous Hall.
Following the cancellation of the promised Board of Trustees Investment Committee vote on divestment, previously scheduled for today, June 14th, the response from the New School community is clear: The university administration's lies, stalling tactics, and complicity in the genocide of Palestinians at the hands of the Israeli apartheid state will not be tolerated. The New School community demands divestment now, and this demonstration serves as a reminder to the Board of Trustees and administration of the blood on their hands, and furthermore, that the New School community will not rest until this demand is met. | 1 043 |
| 6 |  +110 DAYS TO GO: 📖DID YOU KNOW?📖 The New School is invested in Caterpillar Inc., the world’s largest construction and mining manufacturer. Caterpillar equipment is often granted to the IOF by the US.
The Caterpillar D9 armored bulldozer has been used to commit countless war crimes. In the recent months in Gaza, the bulldozers have been used to desecrate at least 16 cemeteries, in addition to destroying 48% of Gaza’s farmland and trees, amounting to ecocide. The bulldozers have also been used to crush sheltering Palestinians outside Kamal Adwan Hospital, according to WHO.
These vehicles have also been used in the last four months to create new East-West roads across the Gaza strip as a means of strengthening IOF control of the territory.

The annual Parsons Benefit is attended by members of the Board of Trustees and The New School’s largest donors. With tables sold for up to $250,000, this event celebrates an institution invested in weapons and war manufacturing amidst the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Protestors have (de)occupied all 7 floors of the Lama Jamous Center (72 5th avenue) for four days now, sitting atop one of the main arteries of capitalism in America, the most expensive and high end shopping street in New York City.
The building, normally used as the nexus of administration for the school, is completely under control of the students, faculty, and alumni, with them determining who is allowed access.
With TNS commencement ceremony now complete, we invite the graduating class to pull up in their regalia as well as comrades from sister encampments!
Tonight, the encampment, the last in NYC, invites all individuals to turn up in large numbers spontaneously with noisemakers, instruments, and keffiyahs!

Our school community has cried out again and again: Divest now!
We need to get a clear vote for divest from weapons manufacturers and surveillance companies. The invasion of Rafah is underway, we cannot stay silent.
We demand a vote by the Investment Committee now. The process of divestment can take place and be figured out by ACIR later, but the commitment to divest cannot wait any longer.
UFS has directly demanded a vote on the following wording: "full divestment from industries implicated in military and police violence in Gaza and the West Bank, and all global militarized conflict such as companies or subsidiaries involved in weapons manufacturing, military supplies and equipment, military communication, and public surveillance technology."
The New School Community has decided to take the Welcome Center. We will not leave until a vote takes place.
