📚Reading Passage (C1 level)
In the modern workplace, remote working has become increasingly common due to advances in digital technology. Many companies report higher employee satisfaction when staff are allowed to work from home, mainly because it reduces commuting time and offers greater flexibility. However, some managers remain concerned that remote work may weaken team cohesion and make it more difficult to monitor productivity. Although various studies have examined the impact of remote working, their conclusions are mixed, and no clear consensus has yet been reached.
Statement (True / False / Not Given):
Scientific research has conclusively proven that remote working reduces employee productivity.

📖 Passage:
In recent years, many experts have argued that working remotely can significantly improve employee productivity. A study conducted in 2022 found that workers who operated from home completed tasks faster and reported higher job satisfaction than those in traditional office environments. However, the same study noted that remote workers often struggled with maintaining clear boundaries between their professional and personal lives. Despite these challenges, companies continue to adopt flexible working policies, believing the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
❓ Statement:
Remote workers always have a better work-life balance than office workers.

In recent years, universities around the world have increasingly adopted online learning platforms as a supplement to traditional classroom instruction. While some institutions report improved accessibility for students living in remote areas, others note that academic performance has remained largely unchanged. Several studies suggest that student engagement in fully online courses varies significantly depending on the subject being taught, with practical disciplines often presenting greater challenges. Despite these mixed outcomes, there is ongoing debate about whether online education can fully replace face-to-face learning in the long term.
🔠Statement⁉️
Most universities have observed a clear improvement in students’ academic performance as a result of adopting online learning platforms.

Many historians argue that the rapid expansion of railways in the 19th century played a crucial role in shaping modern economies. Rail transport significantly reduced the cost and time required to move goods, which allowed industries to expand beyond local markets. As a result, factories were no longer restricted to areas near rivers or ports.
However, some scholars believe that the importance of railways has been exaggerated. They point out that economic growth had already begun before the railway boom and that other factors, such as technological innovation and population growth, also contributed significantly. While railways undoubtedly accelerated development, they were not the sole cause of industrial expansion.
Question
Railways were the only factor responsible for economic growth during the 19th century.
