| 10 |  ⚡️Every master was once a beginner.
Today, I opening up one of my #earliest Figma files. As I scrolled through, I was struck by the design staring back at me😄. It was far from perfect, yet it told a story of persistence. If I had given up back then—if I had quit during those first rough attempts—I wouldn’t be here today.
There were nights where I designed without sleep 💤 , where I pushed through exhaustion, taking on project after project. Each one was a lesson, an opportunity to grow. I’ve learned, just like someone once said, 'Rome wasn’t built in a day.' 🏛 Crafting skill takes time, and mastery requires patience. But with each project, each late night, each tiny improvement, I was getting closer.
Looking back, I realize now that I didn’t do it all alone. My journey has been supported by a grace beyond me. The skills I have today? It’s not just hard work, but a gift, a blessing. My progress, my achievements—they’re credits to #God’s guidance.

I was surprised to see that UX design roles have grown by 29.2% since 2019, reflecting a strong demand for user experience professionals. Companies prioritize user experience more than ever, leading to a wealth of opportunities for skilled professionals in this area.
This trend is likely to continue as software become increasingly central to business strategies.
2. Emphasis on Soft Skills
It was eye-opening to learn that employers are increasingly valuing soft skills alongside technical abilities. With 67.9% of designers securing new roles within three months in 2019 dropping to 49.5% in 2024, effective communication and collaboration are becoming critical differentiators in a competitive market.
This shift highlights the need for designers to cultivate interpersonal skills to stand out.
3. Rise of Freelance Opportunities
The growth of freelance work in the design sector caught my attention as well, with many designers opting for flexible gigs that allow for varied experiences. This trend suggests that traditional employment models may evolve, allowing designers to take control of their career paths.
The report indicates that companies outside traditional tech, like JPMorgan hiring 62 UX designers, are also ramping up their investment in design talent.
4. Opportunities Beyond Big Tech Companies
I found it fascinating that industries outside of traditional tech are ramping up their investment in UX design, with sectors like finance and healthcare recognizing its value. Notably, JPMorgan has hired 62 UX designers, surpassing some tech companies in their recruitment efforts.
This encourages me to broaden my job search beyond just tech companies for exciting opportunities.
5. Landing Roles Takes Longer
Lastly, I was surprised to discover that many designers are experiencing longer job searches than in previous years, with the percentage of designers finding new roles within three months dropping from 67.9% in 2019 to 49.5% in 2024. This decline highlights that designers are taking longer to land new positions due to increased competition and selectivity among employers.
Patience and persistence are essential in navigating today’s job market challenges.
