according to the fia document, both charles and max agreed that the collision was avoidable but neither driver was predominantly to blame for it.
“max was very vocal on the radio saying you drove into him...” charles: i probably would've been very vocal if it was the other way around as well. cause we were fighting for a 3rd place and he was trying everything to get that place back.”
charles on the incident with Max:
“on the contact, i don't think there is anything special. max did a mistake out of the last corner, i went side by side, he tried to bring me on the dirty side of the track, as i would have done, which is normal. and then once i had the upper hand in terms of speed, i tried to take the slipstream a little bit. on the first move, i was willing to move a tiny bit, on the second move he wasn't. that is the difference of the contact ot not. at the end of the day that's racing, i don't think there is a big problem into it.”
