| 10 | Yesterday was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had in competitive PUBG MOBILE.
I don't usually make posts like this, but after everything that happened, I think people deserve to know what went on behind the scenes.
Our Team Latvia roster spent months preparing for the Esports Nations Cup Qualifiers. Together with the Latvian Esports Federation, we invested our own time, money and effort into this event. We bought equipment for players, prepared everything professionally and came here expecting one thing: a fair competition.
Instead, we got chaos.
During the tournament, multiple teams started noticing something strange. The number of spectators in the lobby didn't match what it should have been.
Game 2 – 11 spectators.
Game 3 – 12 spectators.
Game 5 – 10 spectators.
At first everyone thought it might be nothing.
Then screenshots appeared.
Then videos appeared.
Then more and more teams started reporting exactly the same concerns.
The issue wasn't just one match. It was happening throughout the day.
We immediately contacted the admins and asked them to investigate. They confirmed that there was at least one unauthorized spectator in Match 5 and decided to replay only that single match.
The problem is...
If spectators were already appearing in earlier matches, how does replaying only Match 5 solve anything?
Many teams requested that the earlier matches also be reviewed or replayed because those were the matches potentially affected by the same issue.
Instead, the decision was to continue.
Even more surprisingly, Matches 5 and 6 were played with only 16 teams instead of the full lobby, meaning the tournament continued under completely different competitive conditions than originally intended.
This isn't about whether Team Latvia qualified or not.
We still had a chance going into Day 2.
This is about competitive integrity.
When players begin questioning whether official matches are secure, something is fundamentally wrong.
A tournament with over $1,000,000 on the line should have complete control over who can enter spectator slots.
Every team deserves to know that nobody outside the match has access to information that could influence the outcome.
We're not asking anyone to blindly believe us.
We're asking people to look at the evidence that has already been shared publicly, look at the discussions from multiple teams and ask whether this is the standard we want for one of the biggest PUBG MOBILE tournaments of the year.
I also want to make one thing clear.
This isn't an attack on every admin or every member of the production team. Organizing tournaments is difficult, and we appreciate everyone who puts in the work.
But when competitive integrity is questioned by a large portion of the participating teams, protecting the tournament's credibility must come before the schedule.
I sincerely hope this situation is fully reviewed and that stronger measures are put in place for future events.
Competitive integrity should always come first.
Because without trust... Esports has nothing. | 173 |
