August is almost packing its bags, so I’m putting in a little request for a September reunion. Take care until the next time we get to say hello more often whenever we can!

HELP FORWARD‼️ UNTUK RIMBA YANG TAK MAMPU BERSUARA. Di saat manusia masih sibuk menghitung kerugian dari kobaran yang melahap tanah Kalimantan, ada kehidupan lain yang perlahan kehilangan rumahnya tanpa pernah sempat meminta pertolongan. Kalimantan adalah rumah bagi sekitar 57.350 orangutan Kalimantan. Namun dalam kurun waktu kurang dari lima puluh tahun, populasinya telah menyusut hingga sekitar 80 persen. Kini, ketika 1.487 titik panas tercatat di seluruh wilayah Kalimantan, kepungan api kembali merayap mendekati habitat mereka.

Yang terbakar bukan semata pepohonan. Yang terbakar adalah tempat mereka berlindung, sumber pangan yang menopang hidup, dan ekosistem yang membutuhkan waktu puluhan tahun untuk kembali pulih. Asap yang mengepul pun tidak serta-merta berakhir ketika api dipadamkan. Masa asap selama dua hingga tiga bulan dapat berujung pada kelangkaan sumber makanan selama enam hingga tujuh bulan. Bahkan, untuk menggantikan satu pohon yang terbakar, dibutuhkan setidaknya 15 tahun dengan perawatan yang memadai. Dan di tengah semua itu, orangutan tidak memiliki pilihan untuk berpaling. Mereka hanya memiliki rimba, dan rimba itu sedang terbakar. Sejauh laporan terbaru, belum ditemukan orangutan yang mati akibat karhutla. Semoga angka itu tetap demikian. Namun, bukan berarti ancamannya telah usai. Ketika asap memaksa mereka keluar dari habitatnya untuk mencari udara dan makanan, batas antara rimba dan permukiman manusia pun perlahan runtuh. Orangutan bukan sekadar satwa endemik. Mereka adalah bagian dari ingatan ekologis negeri ini. Jika rumah mereka terus kita biarkan lenyap, kelak yang tersisa bukan lagi rimba yang dapat mereka huni, melainkan nama yang hanya kita kenal dari buku, dokumentasi, dan arsip sejarah. Karena itu, bagi siapa pun yang berkenan, mari turut membantu upaya penyelamatan orangutan dan pemulihan habitat mereka.

Please keep talking about Papua, Kalimantan, NTT dan semua wilayah yang telah terkena kebakaran. Many people are dying, breathing smokes, losing their homes to the fire. The government is barely helping, please keep on talking about them. Kebakaran semakin banyak dan belum ada yang padam, korban di NTT masih banyak yang mengungsi dan mereka terus mengalami gempa susulan, Papua masih dibawah operasi militer dan mengalami karhutla juga, please help them and talk about them. The government wont help, so us civils should help them. Warga Jaga Warga! <3

At the same time, forest fires in Kalimantan continue to threaten nature, wildlife, and the lives of local communities. Behind every disaster, there are people, families, and animals struggling to survive. While some of us can still live our lives normally, others are fighting through situations they never asked for. Let’s not ignore what is happening. Even a small act of kindness, spreading awareness, sharing reliable information, or simply praying for those affected can mean something.
