All the Best to all the warriors out there who attempted the CSE2026 Prelims.
The results will be out soon, and you will know where you are standing.
If you have cleared the prelims, you have no time to celebrate as Mains 2026 is just around the corner and you have just 69 days left.
If because of any reasons you were not able to clear it this time, you have no time to cry as Mains prep for CSE-2027 can only happen between July-December 2026. You guys also need to prepare on war footing for Mains 2026 as if you are writing this year itself. Those who are able to produce this discipline and rigor will remain one step ahead for next year.
In both the cases, my suggestion would be to control your emotions and follow the process.

| 2 | 3. GENERAL OF CCS(CONDUCT) RULES 1964:
(1) Every Government servant shall at all times--
(i) maintain absolute integrity;
(ii) maintain devotion to duty; and
(iii) do nothing which is unbecoming of a Government servant.
*[(iv) commit himself to and uphold the supremacy of the Constitution and democratic values;
(v) defend and uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India, the security of the State, public order, decency and morality;
(vi) maintain high ethical standards and honesty;
(vii) maintain political neutrality;
(viii) promote the principles of merit, fairness and impartiality in the discharge of duties;
(ix) maintain accountability and transparency;
(x) maintain responsiveness to the public, particularly to the weaker section;
(xi) maintain courtesy and good behaviour with the public;
(xii) take decisions solely in public interest and use or cause to use public resources efficiently, effectively and economically;
(xiii) declare any private interests relating to his public duties and take steps to resolve any conflicts in a way that protects the public interest;
(xiv) not place himself under any financial or other obligations to any individual or organisation which may influence him in the performance of his official duties;
(xv) not misuse his position as civil servant and not take decisions in order to derive financial or material benefits for himself, his family or his friends;
(xvi) make choices, take decisions and make recommendations on merit alone;
(xvii) act with fairness and impartiality and not discriminate against anyone, particularly the poor and the under-privileged sections of society;
(xviii) refrain from doing anything which is or may be contrary to any law, rules, regulations and established practices;
(xix) maintain discipline in the discharge of his duties and be liable to implement the lawful orders duly communicated to him;
(xx) maintain confidentiality in the performance of his official duties as required by any laws for the time being in force, particularly with regard to information, disclosure of which may prejudicially affect the sovereignty and integrity of India, the security of the State, strategic, scientific or economic interests of the State, friendly relation with foreign countries or lead to incitement of an offence or illegal or unlawful gain to any person;
(xxi) perform and discharge his duties with the highest degree of professionalism and dedication to the best of his abilities.

Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964--> Rule 15 --> Private Trade or Employment
What a civil servant cannot do? Rule 15(1)
- cannot take any other employment or engage in any private business.
- Start or join any trade, business, or company.
- Do a side job or take up employment for payment.
- Hold an elective office or campaign for one.
- Do canvassing for a business, such as an insurance or commission agency.
- Work on sponsored radio, TV, or media programs.
What a civil servant can do? Rule 15(2)
- take up honorary, unpaid work of a social or charitable nature. (For ex. sharing personal experience and knowledge of an exam on telegram)
- However, you must ensure it does not interfere with your official duties.
P.S. I know too much of a reading, a TROLL would not take up effort to read up rules and laws in their lifespan. But an aspirant and a future civil servant would read this as it will help in GS-4 case studies as well as real life case studies.
