Gold is usually seen as a “safe” investment, a place where people put their money when they’re worried about the economy or when other investments seem too risky. It’s like a safety net that investors rely on when they want to protect themselves from things like inflation or market crashes. But right now, the US dollar is very strong, especially against the euro, and many believe the economy is going to keep improving. This outlook is causing the price of gold to drop since fewer people are looking for safety in gold.

Gold has had a rough month, dropping by 8% in November. This happened right after Donald Trump won the presidential election. As of Thursday, a single ounce of gold was priced at about $2,550, which is a steady decline from its record high of $2,790 back in late October. That’s a 9% drop in just a couple of weeks. The main reason for gold’s drop is that investors are moving away from “safe” assets like gold and putting their money into riskier investments, like stocks, cryptocurrencies, and other parts of the forex market. These riskier assets are shooting up in value because investors are feeling more confident about the economy.
