15 The US does not need economic integration or globalization
...the usual suspects think the US is missing out by not surrendering its sovereignty and allowing other countries to export to the US tariff-free.
However, if the US integrates with poorer countries, we will wind up with an average, which means Americans will lose while the people from the developing countries will gain. One example would be Mexico, where the average income is $11,500 per year, whereas in the US it is $70,000.
This is such a strange article. What "average income" means is wildly misunderstood too. How many people do you know who make 6,000 USD per month? That's not what that means. It also confuses globalisation, "globalisation" and integration. Other countries importing here tariff-free means we can do the same. It's not their fault we don't produce anything. We are way past trying to save factory jobs by imposing tariffs, that should've happened decades ago, before the US economy became a total sham.
