This is why it is not so ridiculous that a king's son would inherit the role (as a terrible responsibility). Even if occasionally the prince was a psycho - with 'politicians' you can GUARANTEE they are all psychos. People assume there is a 'vetting for philosopher king excellence' that goes on, but it doesn't.
