In the north east of Scotland on the weekend, our man Dave was out volunteering again at his local country park. The task this time was to clear some Himalayan Balsam. This plant is an invasive, non-native species that has spread like wild fire, forming a thick green carpet that hinders the growth of native saplings. The only way to deal with this plant is to pull them out by the root before they flower. This labour intensive task is simply too big for one ranger to attempt, given the scale of the task. This is where volunteering is key, local people working for their area can change things. A dedicated team, giving their time and sweat can make a massive difference to their local area. They can improve things for the natural landscape around them and therefore, improve their local community as well. Why not get involved and make that difference with us?

The German police officer who was stabled by a migrant while trying to protect members of the public has died. The media are still not calling this a terrorist attack and are constantly referring to a fictional “far-right rally”, dog-whistling that it was somehow deserved. The reality is that it was a perfectly normal street stall that was attacked by a knife wielding migrant because they were critical of Islam. They don’t even name the police officer or the attacker, but do manage to name a political activist. Many people have wrongly castigated the officer because it seemed like he was restraining the wrong man. But footage later showed that while the rest stood back, unsure of what to do, he was the one who rushed in, putting his own life at risk to try and stop the violence, putting a man on the ground who was attacking the wrong person, only for himself to be murdered by the true assailant whom he initially didn't recognise. The man is a hero who died going above and beyond his duty. In the wake of these instances, everyone is looking for someone to blame. There are 3 places where blame should be directed: 1/ at the migrant with the knife. 2/ at the politicians who put the policies in place that caused this. 3/ at the media, who continue to distort what is really happening across all of Europe.

The Danish Peoples Party (Dansk Folkeparti or DF) is a nationalist party that was originally condemned as "far-right" for its anti-immigration policies. They made it clear they do "not want Denmark as a multiethnic, multicultural society." Once the other parties realised that their policies were popular enough, things changed. Even the centre-left Social Democrats agreed that mass immigration was no good. Now that many policies that were originally theirs are implemented in law, Denmark has a fraction of the immigration seen in neighbouring countries and is a happier place for it. The Conservatives have promised to rewrite the Equality Act so that protections it enshrines on the basis of a person’s sex apply only to their biological sex. But the only reason 'sex' needs to be clarified with 'biological' is because the Conservatives have allowed gender ideology to permeate through the institutions and brainwash our young.
