Fauna graduated. "The Beginner's Guide" game. Some other personal things. What a way to start a new year. Now it is time to cook. I don't make new years resolution because I know I won't complete them. But I have some general milestones. This year I want to get B2 in German (preferably in the first 2 months) and get somewhere between N4 and N3 in Japanese (I bought a lifetime subscription on WaniKani too as a way to pamper myself). I also want to get a driver's license. And most importantly: finish Type Theory book and Essentials of Compilation book, and finally write a full-fledged compiler. Oh, also apply to Uni. I think this is a precise enough goals to guide me and loose enough to not shackle me.

52 hours since then. Enough gaming for the next half year I presume.

Faunwell. It was magnificent while it lasted... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFIVy79pgWc

I have to update the list of things to never do again: - Drink Coffee - Play horror games late at night

I know it's not real. I know these feelings are irrational... but it doesn't make things any better.

I pulled an all nighter and finished the game. Got the bad ending (and probably the worst). And you know what happened just now? Blackout. The electricity is gone. Man, what the actual fuck. Moreover, today was a laundry day and my sister in law washed clothes and put them up throughout my room (well it's cold outside, so no other choice). Worst part is: she has gone to see her parents. We had guests too but they left today in the morning. I'm the only person standing in the house right now. Man, everything reminds me of her. Fuck my life choices. I have only 28 percent left on my phone too. Probably will go outside and walk along the main road if it gets worse. I still can't believe this shit. I've never been this scared since like what... 4 th grade.

Playing MiSide at midnight wasn't a good idea.

I let go. Lost in oblivion. Dark and silent and complete. I found freedom. Losing all hope was freedom. ... at least for now

Great holes secretly are digged where earth's pores ought to suffice, and things have learnt to walk that ought to crawl. How about a PLT variation of this quote: Languages are made up where lambda calculus ought to suffice, and abstractions have learned to tangle that ought to compose. A bit cringey, but alright I guess.

Even though _CoqProject and Makefile suck you can integrate them really well into Nix with a local Flake for a project and manage COQPATH there. Also, don't touch VSCoq at all. I wasted so much time trying to set it up, but couldn't. After giving up I had to fall back to CoqIDE for some time, which is too ancient (at least for me) and doesn't support Vim keybindings. Then I discovered coq-lsp. Just Chief's kiss. Works well with libraries and the best thing is: you don't need to refresh/check the file every time you make changes or write some vernacular command. So.... I am now set and can fully focus on lectures.

Going all in Maybe I will hit a jackpot after today's victory and sell them Coq too. Worth an attempt. I have nothing to lose
Going all in Maybe I will hit a jackpot after today's victory and sell them Coq too. Worth an attempt. I have nothing to lose. The interesting thing is, these lectures ultimately teach how to formally verify using Go as an example language.... aaand we mainly use Go in production. How convenient. Already at the 4th lecture. To be honest I find Coq to be leaner (simpler; pun intended) than Lean. _CoqProject and Makefile suck though. We'll see how it goes, won't jump into conclusions after only a day.

Progress report: project managers understood the problem. And now it is not me vs pm, ceo and client. Instead it is me, ceo and pm vs client. 39 lines of Alloy 6 is all it took to find bug in the contracts' profit calculation part. There's still parts that are not verified yet. Pools, pool shares, investor shares, company profit, etc...

Formal verification, namely usage of Alloy 6, seems to have paid off. I've found a problem in business logic that neither project managers nor clients knew was possible. They're still trying to understand the counterexample I provided.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you. A reminder that these guys added generics to Java and namely Philip Wadler added generics
Don't bite the hand that feeds you. A reminder that these guys added generics to Java and namely Philip Wadler added generics to Go too. It is so ironic, seeing all the "Pragmatic™" software engineers criticizing Scala and Haskell while benefiting from the very innovations they brought to mainstream languages.

This was "Arabesque" by Salyu (Lily Chou-Chou) herself. Now wouldn't you look at this, for the 20th anniversary of Salyu, a tribute of Arabesque by Ichiko Aoba. Magnificent. 🥺
